You bus drives awesome. Brakes are dialed. Pat found the issue with the throttle cable.

Panda bug random project. The owner brought it in to lower/style it up job. We told them to address the engine problems first. And there were plenty. Leaking oil cooler, smoked clutch, cracked intake boots. misc jank. The funny thing is this car came from another local VW shop.

in reply to: KCW randomness #7073You guys are funny. Snow is awesome.
We’re missing it in CO this year. Almost 50 degrees here today. When California falls into the ocean we’re going to have beachfront property.
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #7072I get lucky. I thought I seriously fucked-up yesterday.
Those drums are like a $180 each, and would have cost $150 to next day ship. 68 drums are one year only because the backing plate is like a 64-67 style.
Peet is killing it today. Should be able to drive it home this weekend if you want.
in reply to: Parkway projects #7071The flywheel was glazed. See those two blue/black spots. Resurfaced.
Then I noticed the throw-out bearing was off-center because the set screw on the back was loose.
Whats up with that fancy wire tie clip hanger? You got a new throw-out bearing because the old one was getting loose/noisy. Clevis pin on the pedal was dry and worn. Bowden tube was kinked at the end and had too many spacers. Clutch pressure plate was China. I installed a HD sach/brazil.
in reply to: KCW randomness #7026Thats Rad. I do that in my mind everytime I drive trough the desert.
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #7019You got some funky stuff going on. 1968 is a one year only drum..but you have different backing plates. One backing plate is 68 type, and the other is 69-70 type. I did’nt realize. The outter dust seal to the backing plate is slightly different. 69 is larger.
I was able to modify a 69-70 drum to fit 68 backing plate by parting the outer ring.
in reply to: KCW randomness #6997in reply to: all things JJJ’s #6996Looking good. Whats up with that truck? New?
in reply to: Parkway projects #6960Got Rusty’s rig on lift and opened the decklid to this. I think I’ll push it back outside and wash it.
Jesse’s uber expensive german brake parts arrived from WW, I cleaned and coated them with black epoxy. Ready for assembly tomorrow.
