I get lucky. I thought I seriously fucked-up yesterday.
Those drums are like a $180 each, and would have cost $150 to next day ship. 68 drums are one year only because the backing plate is like a 64-67 style.
Peet is killing it today. Should be able to drive it home this weekend if you want.
in reply to: Parkway projects #7071The flywheel was glazed. See those two blue/black spots. Resurfaced.
Then I noticed the throw-out bearing was off-center because the set screw on the back was loose.
Whats up with that fancy wire tie clip hanger? You got a new throw-out bearing because the old one was getting loose/noisy. Clevis pin on the pedal was dry and worn. Bowden tube was kinked at the end and had too many spacers. Clutch pressure plate was China. I installed a HD sach/brazil.

in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #7019You got some funky stuff going on. 1968 is a one year only drum..but you have different backing plates. One backing plate is 68 type, and the other is 69-70 type. I did’nt realize. The outter dust seal to the backing plate is slightly different. 69 is larger.
I was able to modify a 69-70 drum to fit 68 backing plate by parting the outer ring.
