You got some funky stuff going on. 1968 is a one year only drum..but you have different backing plates. One backing plate is 68 type, and the other is 69-70 type. I did’nt realize. The outter dust seal to the backing plate is slightly different. 69 is larger.

I was able to modify a 69-70 drum to fit 68 backing plate by parting the outer ring.

Franz is the king of hitting the curve ball…Thats the type of solution other shops wont and in most cases cant come up with.

I agree with Justin…  Most shops would have thrown up their tools and ordered more parts… Clean shop handled the speedbump…  Hell. most shops don’t even have the tools to do what Franz did… 😉

KCW is a one stop shop.. All your Volkswagen problems can be solved at 801 Kimball..  😉  😉  😉  we’ve even been known to help with other problems from time to time.. 😉

    I get lucky. I thought I seriously fucked-up yesterday.

Those drums are like a $180 each, and would have cost $150 to next day ship. 68 drums are one year only because the backing plate is like a 64-67 style.

Peet is killing it today. Should be able to drive it home this weekend if you want.
