Got everything dialed in on Dans diesel gas heater install this afternoon. Puts out tons of heat!!!
Had to bend a few brackets for mounting, drill a couple of holes in the floor for intake and exhaust, run intake exhaust and duct piping, mount the fuel tank, and run fuel and electric lines.
Also installed a fuse panel under the bed that is easily accessible and handles all of the duties for the secondary battery system.
Made a couple of protective shields for the wiring/fuel line track and fuel pump so Dan can still use his storage under there.
splash shield for the intake.
Took it for a test drive. Went good for a bit but shifting felt a little strange. Called our builder after we all test drove it. They think it’s the aftermarket nose cone that was produced incorrectly that they’re just discovering they got a batch of and just recently diagnosed the issue after starting to hear from customers all having the same issue. Pulling everything back out now to remedy the issue.

Pulled the motor yesterday evening. Pulled trans and started tear down this morning. Drivers side axle, fulcrums, and side gear were pitted pretty bad. Located and cleaned up replacements.
Lots of cleaning parts done. Installed axles and tubes then stabbed new trans in. Should have everything back together by around noon tomorrow.

I called the BOR racing contact number the other day and spoke to an Alan Gerber. He said their will be more info avail around the end of February beginning of March.
From what I gathered this is a fairly relaxed series that we should be fun and help us to gain some real time race experience.
They do have meetings in the Provo area that we may be able to attend if we feel that’s it’s necessary.

I guess it’s not welt cord. Its screen retainer spline. We ordered both from Vintage Trailer Supply.

Cleaned all the sealing surfaces, installed new screens/welt cord, and the frame to body seals yesterday.
Just epoxy sealed your front window divider bars, L31 to follow on those here shortly.
Do you want me to pop out glass and do outer seals? I bet I can get a new piece of glass today from the GlassDoc.

Put in a little time this weekend on a dual batt. system for Dans bus.
Batt. isolator calls for a 150amp in-line fuse.
Bent up a batt strap and installed the second batt.
Fit and prepped cables. Need to pick up a few more cable ends today to finish those.
Dan lead me towards this electronic batt isolator that seams pretty damn cool. Got one heading this way. 1/3 the price off eBay compared to anywhere local unfortunately. Should be here Wednesday.

Pat was getting the gas heater box out of the cargo area, misplaced a step, and fell off of the lift flat to his back. He went home hurting. I hope he is ok.
Luckily my tailbone stopped the fall.
I’ll be fine. Just need one more day to recover before I’ll be useful again.
See ya tomorrow morning.

We talked to Kevin today about doing some of the BOR series races. Sounds like were going to be heading to Vernal mid May.
BOR has not updated their wed page with their 2020 race schedule info. I was able to locate this on their Facebook.
