LETS GO RACING!!!
Started on this one a couple of days ago.
JJ said I could pick one from the boneyard. Thank you sir!!!
Franz and I never thought this would used used so we put it on the rack first, hardest to get to now.
I “carefully “slid it into the place so we could pluck it with the F420. That’s a screw jack under the front.
Oops……🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂…I believe corporate has pics/footage of our shenanigans moving it from where I parked it.
We will build it if it comes.Audrey JonesModeratorJanuary 24, 2021 at 8:09 amPost count: 333

This looks fun. Is it going to be ready for the same debut as JJ’s class 11?
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.RustabusParticipantJanuary 24, 2021 at 8:41 amPost count: 2191

Sweet! Pat, if you’re not going to use that body lift I might take it off your hands.Pat KKeymasterJanuary 24, 2021 at 9:13 amPost count: 1790
Not going to make it to SlashX next month with this car.
Shooting for the May 8,BOR-racing series, Dinosaur Dash in Vernal, UT.
Exactly Rusty! Plus it already has off road experience!!!!
Tore down the body and pan yesterday. Body is pretty solid. Needs a bit of rust repair in normal spots
The SUPER SOLID!!!!!! pan is what made me want to get it down out of the rafters.
Removed the body lift. We’re going to put that on the Fargo shop truck!
We will build it if it comes.CorporateModeratorJanuary 24, 2021 at 11:08 amPost count: 1001

Well, guess stock seats are out!!!😅😅🔥🔥👍Pat KKeymasterJanuary 25, 2021 at 9:17 pmPost count: 1790
Prepping pan before cage work begins. Yesterday’s progress. Shaved the seat rails.
Dissected this cover plate to gain access for the torsion adjuster install.
Chopped the rear shock mounts back as far as allowed.
I’m going to be running a link pin beam on this car…..This being a ball joint pan, by sectioning 1 1/4” from the pan head, to match the link pin being spacing, it gives you a 1” lift due to the BJ lower beam location being 1” lower compared to a LP pan head.
We will build it if it comes.MikeKParticipantJanuary 26, 2021 at 9:11 amPost count: 249
Knowing very little about Baja’s, this is fascinating information. Why does the rear shock mount get chopped?Pat KKeymasterJanuary 26, 2021 at 11:53 amPost count: 1790
What are the classes for VW 5/1600, Class 11? Is there an unlimited? I started looking into the different classes and the requirements to race. My next project build was a narrow eye Baja to have fun and tow behind the bus but I am having thoughts of making it a racing Baja now.
Class 11s is stock suspension, with full fenders, running a limited 1600DP.
5/1600s are you “basic Baja”. More suspension /parts upgrade options. Same motor as class11.
5 unlimited is full blown free reign on your suspension, but must still VW based. Several motor/trans options. Only VW motor option is T4. Big $$$$$ class. 70K+ for a class winning car. No class winning car still runs T4s.
We will build it if it comes.AndymParticipantJanuary 27, 2021 at 6:05 pmPost count: 972
I like the torsion bar adjuster idea, that’s cool.RustabusParticipantJanuary 27, 2021 at 7:50 pmPost count: 2191
Diggin the Class 5 idea, Baja the Fuck outta it and run a simple motor!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀Pat KKeymasterJanuary 30, 2021 at 9:26 pmPost count: 1790
Why does the rear shock mount get chopped?
Class rules allow it. I’ll be running 14” stroke shocks that will require relocated upper mounts.
Reinforced the clutch cable tube a couple of days ago.
Also plated the vertical portion of the pan head conversion.
Riley helped me fit the pan head section today along with the new 4130 chromoly Kartek beam. Thanks Bud!
We will build it if it comes.
