Yeah! Skid plate material, 3/16” plate. Can’t waist to scratch it all up in the dirt!
We will build it if it comes.
Got a good start on the front skid yesterday.
We will build it if it comes.
Beast!!! Can’t wait for the first race!!!!!!
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
Front skids all trimmed up and fit.
Bolted the rear on. Put some heat to it to bend it.
No go. Dang!
We will build it if it comes.
Turn on just the acetylene and deposit soot on the part of the panel you want to bend. Add oxygen for a neutral flame and burn off all of the soot. That will leave the panel annealed. It should be soft as butter after that. I’d use a large tip or even a cutting head since it’s so thick.
Thanks Mike! I was hoping someone would chime in.
Tried the soot on the back side. Never got hot enough for it to burn off. Larger tip is probably the key. Heat up that area a lot quicker.
We will build it if it comes.
Dzus tab fitting and welding for the splash panels up front yesterday.
Thanks MikeK! Couple clamps and the cutting torch did the job to get the rear skid bent into shape.
We will build it if it comes.
Glad it worked out. It’s amazing his soft AL gets after annealing.
Trimmed up the tail end of the rear skid for a better fit.
Adding some sparkles to this ass today! Rear light bar mount fab. Brakes, signals, amber safety light, and blue/green safety lights all in one.
We will build it if it comes.
That light bar s baddass !!
