in reply to: WANTED SURVIVOR Bus #11154
I’m glad I got all the buses I’ll ever need. I have no plans to buy another.
in reply to: WANTED SURVIVOR Bus #11153Its OK Andy. You could swap a Subaru into to make it worth $20k? Its only OG once, and collectors want authenticity. I see the value.
There are only a certain number of buses in this world. Its a privilege to own one these days.
I chalk it up to the scene. When we got into this stuff 2o years ago, there were only half the number of people that could be called die- hard enthusiasts. Even then, everyone wanted beetles and ghias…buses were weird and dorky.
in reply to: Emilee’s ‘79 Riviera Camper #11152You don’t need to pull the engine.
Just take the rear tin off, remove the fan, and loosen the fan housing. You should be able to get things loose enough to wiggle the cooler out.
I’ve done this job laying in the dirt.
in reply to: Road Trip Mystery Speedster #11150I think A1 makes some nice Porsche headers. Sebring?
in reply to: Early 59 DC #11130Kevin is going to help you make wood?

in reply to: Road Trip Mystery Speedster #11129Yeah! Nicely done. 😎 Are you sure you want to sell it?
in reply to: BrownCloud KCW baja race team #11092Its like Christmas here. We got some Kartek parts. Mirror mounts will double as wide/cornering light mounts. Quick release steering hub, tread plates and IDF ump intake box.
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #11091Knocking it out. Finished the interior and cab yesterday. More today. I could post some pictures….but I think I’ll wait until we get this rig outside.
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #11077Doug Delivered a seat yesterday.
in reply to: BrownCloud KCW baja race team #11075Empi arrived yesterday. The parts department is looking sweet.
A bunch of original spindles for gusseting work. These are a weak point. We’re going to keep an extra in the car and make the change-out process as fast as possible.
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #11073in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #11072We’re talking about Mongoose, Diamondback or Redlines. Maybe Dyno…but GT got into the game after it was established. How about a Kuwahara or Hutch?
in reply to: 66 deluxe megahatch #11038Did you buy a bracket kit to modify or are you going to fab something up? I’m sure time will tell. Keep on it.
I bought the vanagon/bay window bracket kit they had available. All I had to do was trim it down a little to get it closer to the gutter and clear the windows. I also welded a support bar to roof mounting provisions. I don’t think it would be sturdy enough without. The unit is heavy 75lbs plus.
in reply to: Ultimate Vanagon #11037You guys are trying to take it to the overland expo? We are going to be close.
in reply to: Pauls 60 Single cab #11036Installing the lids today and I think we’ll be mostly done. Spend the next few days getting a little road time, adjust/tune, and detailed to the moon.
Hooking you up with a OG air cleaner assembly. I have a black paint session to do later.
