All I can think of right now is:

    • fix rear hatch
    • decide on what we replace that spare tire carrier with
    • skid plates
    • auxilary diesel tank
    • cut wheel wells
    • new solar(probably fit it in the luggage rack on the roof)
    • iPad for the dash

Ill ask KB his plans though and we can chat about it this weekend.

I have been looking into the vancafe switchback rack system. Seems super cool and modular.EE98D768-7C8D-49D4-B7CF-0EBD1D336BE557F70CF1-41FF-439C-BEF0-E2126DA22B3471E4165C-22FD-434D-A82C-6204CB3CF90FB280160F-97FC-4EF7-ACD2-FC6FB8D2CA30

For sure. Just one spare most of the time. Our trash bag and maybe some Jerry cans when doing long distance

Just emailed Greg. Pike’s peak race is this week. I asked him if we could be priority #2 when he is done racing.

I haven’t seen or heard a word about Greg… I think we are still missing an ECU???  so close.. yet so far away….

I wonder what the deal is? As soon as we got it running he tells us he needs to modify the ecu to keep it from having a melt down. That was a few months ago..

The ecu came back today. I plugged it in charged the battery and it fired right up. It’s twice as hot as half of hell outside today. I’ll get it in the shop next week. I think the plan is vacuum system for the lockers, Fox coilovers and shocks, 2nd fuel tank, solar panels and skid plates. Now that Baja is checked off the list I’m really excited to get this wrapped up. It’s going to be ULTIMATE

A great guy to ask about these VW’s about is Barry Guscott at Werke1.com.  He is the Canadian rep for GoWesty and he only works on Vanagons.  He has done many swaps from Subies to TDI’s.  He does some of the best work on North America on VW’s and vintage cars (he has worked on cars that have won overall best at Pebble Beach).

Sep 15? Sounds good to me. That extra tank is gonna take this thing to another level. SO much range

I look forward to the day this rig makes it’s maiden voyage home… 😎  If that can be Sept 15… That is enough reason to follow it home I guess…. If Kevin’s cooking steaks…. 😎
