in reply to: Tech Questions #2170Looks like liquid nails. That stuff is tough.
Maybe some aircraft paint stripper carefully applied with tape over the paint?
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #2078I think baywindows prices are high as ever right now.
Imagine the parts/service you could buy for the DD with 12 grand.? We could have that bus ready for Moab. ?
in reply to: Je$$e’s (aka Tintop) Projects #2065Rebuild your 1776 into a 82 x 90.5 2110cc stroker. Put some junk in the baywindow and off it. You’re not going to need two campers.
in reply to: New Website #2056Yo Zack, the new layout looks better.
I noticed that if you click the thread topic it loads every post from the first one. Which I think may be contributing to the server crashing today.
I’m not sure if people know that they can click on the time “1 hour, 17 minutes ago” section to the right of the thread topic to automatically take you to the latest post.
in reply to: 54 camping box #2039Epic build. Crazy body off rust repair. JJ had the skill, knowledge, and focus to repair the shell to factory fresh condition in minimal time.
It had lot of original to the bus parts that kept the “soul” intact. Beam, transaxle, pod, speedo, wheels, dome lights and all the doors to name a few. Despite the massive rust repair, this is a very correct/original machine.
Peet and I tackled skill level 10 assembly in 3 weeks calender time. Many frustrating moments and obstacles to overcome when doing a project like this. I can honestly say that we didn’t cut any corners and did everything to the best of our ability.
I look forward to seeing the Greg Noble camping box interior complete the package.
in reply to: SoCal VW Treffen #20215 hebs?!
in reply to: Kelly’s forever barndoor project #201670mph all day long. Uphill even.
The steering/suspension is great too. One hand is all you need on the wheel going through corners at speed. It drives smooth and strait.
in reply to: KCW randomness #2015Thanks for employing me for the last 13 years. It’s been fun watching and helping you build your shop. Glad that I’ve been able to stay out of corporate America and only focus on the work in front of me.
in reply to: KCW randomness #2011No auction then?
in reply to: Salt lake Utah classic #2005Good times. Thanks to ibbrown for hosting an awesome show. Everything was perfect. Looking forward to next year already.
Driving two barndoors is an experience I’ll always remember and cherish. Glad that I could be a part of the builds and the show. That was one of the hardest pushes to finish ever.
Sorry for wimping out on camping last night. I got some serious project hangover going on. Spending today watching football with my legs up on the couch.?
