    Peet drove it last night. We fixed the brakes with a wheel cylinder hone and some napa rubber cups. Worked awesome. Few things to do this morning to make it road worthy. The rear suspension was too tall and the shifter needs some adjusting.

    I’m waiting for brake parts to arrive with the post today. If they don’t come, I can rebuild some core front wheel cylinders, and next day some rears.

    The ride height is more proper this morning.

    We had it set low for display mode without the engine.

    One of the last missing pieces is the driver’s door handle. BD is like a split bug in that they have a slightly different/rounded profile near the base of the handle. I have a rechromed original that I could be convinced to sell…

    I have not been able to locate original “big diamond” reflectors for this bus. I have some Argentine re-pops in my stash that will go on for the weekend.

    Late night on this machine. We found a pinhole leak in the gas tank. Pulled it out, repaired, and reinstalled.

    Ready for a first drive today.

    Kelly, your bus is going to a show in Salt Lake City, UT this weekend. Do you want to drive it there? Get some plane tickets sorted, so that you can be in Grand Junction on Friday morning of the 15th.

    Engine break-in just happened. It sounds really good. Responsive.

     

    Its kind of cool to get this part from Mark R. as he is part of the bus history/find. Check out some of the old pictures of this bus on his website.

    Looks like the right stuff.
    Wednesday, I have an alternative plan to get this bus road worthy, if the brake parts do not arrive.
