LOL… as you well know JJ my shocks are 6-8 months out…But those are for the the ones I want. I could probably come up with an alternative.

However motor has to be spec and if I dont have that I can’t race.

If anyone out there has a lead on a fresh AS41 case please let us know…👍👍

Personal projects are the HARDEST projects to complete… We get PAID to work on customer stuff… You have to put in some extra effort and sacrifice to finish a personal project…  Passion and drive are not overrated!

Managed to throw some hours at this over the weekend.

Knocked out seat and seatbelt mounts on the driver sides. About 6” of adjustability for the drivers seat. 

Added some plating on both sides of the tunnel for cross braces which will also be used for the seatbelt crotch strap mounts.

Started on the pass side mounts. 

Closed in the pass front fender well area I shouldn’t have cut out in the first place…doh!

We will build it if it comes.

Started fabing patches to cover the gaps around tubing also.

We were able to buy the LAST magnesium case in existence..!!! WOOOHOOO!  I owed Pat a case. and by god.. we found one!!!  It’s on it’s way to Rimco for all the cool guy mods!!!

Pats car is going to be ridiculously fun… class 11 co-driving is SO FUN but I can’t image how much more smooth a class 5 must be!!!

Do you have to have a co-driver for class 5 like class 11?

WOOO!!! Thanks JJ and to Larry Olsen of Olsen’s Air Cooled VW of Tampa FL.

JJ was beating the rafters trying to find me one. I did not want to run a heavy , hot running alum case…👎👎

The ol’ google search for an AS41 led me to Olsen’s. Put my name on a list, no call back after a week. Checked yesterday, still avail, price had gone up a good bit. Damn supply chain problems.

Not much physical progress yesterday. Figured out a bunch of what I want to do going forward for the front shock mounts and engine cage.

Front shock mounts today. Mock up shock…🤨

Drilled holes for the rear bars. Tossed the mock-up engine in and bolted on a exhaust. 

We will build it if it comes.
