BBT has a nice king pin bushing kit. I think CIP1 stocks them or WW. I like these adjustable reamers from Mcmaster Carr https://www.mcmaster.com/adjustable-reamers/extra-long-angle-blade-adjustable-size-reamers-8/ https://www.mcmaster.com/adjustable-reamers/straight-blade-adjustable-size-reamers-8/
Thank you so much! This helps me out a lot.Cool. The other good thing about the adjustable reamer is that you can make the bushings undersize if you choose to machine the size of the kingpin smaller than stock for rust pits/wear.
Shortening the steering shaft to match the 1.5” steering box raise. So that the steering wheel stays at the stock height. Everything inside looks great. Just needs a new seal.
I ordered new .250” ball bearings to rebuild the open ball bearings on the steering shaft. The bearing race hasd some minor wear that I polished out with various grit sandpaper on the lathe.
Fan fuchin tastic!!!! Love the sleeve….8-)
Toms beam is handled… his steering box is handled.. spring plates etc.. I am hoping for a WolfsburgWest order again today!!!

We will build it if it comes.
Cleaned and narrowed torsion springs yesterday. The original spring packs had the 3 largest leaves pulled to lower it. Resulting in some of the other springs breaking. I dug through KCW’s stash and found found replacements.
Narrowed 2.250” (or 1.125” per side) and welded the ends like stock.
All the brake, suspension and steering parts arrived from Wolfsburg West. New German wheel bearings too. They also had just came out with these arms rest for como green interior. Very nice.
shocks, steering dampener, new Bosch starter and rubber floor mats.Yeah baby!!! More shiney new parts!!!! I think Franz is gonna be assembling the bottom side soon!!!

I talked to Cole earlier this week. He’s home and scrambling to catch up with a number of various things… a move, and yeah… lot’s of things 😉 . I think he is open to drivetrain install and final fit thru to turn-key at the KCW shop, but doesn’t want to step on any toes, so I’ll leave it at that and let John and Franz and him talk about it.
