Final roof bar done.

Cut gussets for upper part of the cage and burned them in on the top side. 

Knocking out the last two uppers tonight. 

We will build it if it comes.

Give him a little nudge Dave… He has been overwhelmed with regular work lately.. work has been piling up again… I fear I’m gonna have to get back to it!!!

Shocks seem to be back ordered like a mofo….   Dave what Brand shock do you prefer??  and is that no matter the class, or do have 11 favorites and class5 favorites?

Decided the first BOR race was not doable due to parts availability. Instead of stressing I’m taking a break waiting on parts to pile up. I’ll be back at it soon.

Pat it is looking awesome! I hear you about parts shortage, I am hearing 12-15 weeks for FOX Shocks for the bus.

I will have some questions on a roll cage since my Baja choice has changed form a 69 hard top to my first car a 69 convertible. If I am going to sell one might as well be the hard top and keep my first car. Wife approved but the only requirement is roll cage.

Riley and I started working on this again. Swapped out the stock trans cv flanges for 930s, and bolted it in.  Going to start setting up the rear suspension. 

We will build it if it comes.

Bus trans + 930 axles are the cat’s pajamas!

….King Dave, tell us about gear ratios….class5/1600 with 33” tires.

I’m looking at the Weddle 5.14, 5.43, 5.50, or 5.86 ring and pinion to get first and second gear down.

I hear the 5 rib 4.86 is strong but kind of tall.

Rear suspension mock up underway this morning. 

Chopped the spring plate stops.

Need to trim down the pivot busing sleeves.  I’m sure this will be one of many little “problems” I’ll have to work through in this process. 

We will build it if it comes.

Looks great Pat!! I love my big monster baja bug. It’s not a race car, but it’s fun to go beat on. Subi 2.5 with a bus trans 31” super swampers.
