Hey Franz…..did you see a vert dome light in the pile of junk.    When I bought it, the guy said it was in there……..but I didn’t see one but didn’t look that close either.       I’m just trying to figure out the stuff that we still need to source beyond decklid and decklid mounts.   I think we have most everything needed.

Serious conversation was had last night:  (John is going to hate this).

 

Without sparing you the hassle of all the details…………..This car will not be dove blue.    My compromised position was still staying true to a 1956 VW bug or 356 PreA color.

Our best bet for color at this point is either:  Silver Metallic or Graphite Metallic (both 1956 Porsche colors).    This would be matched with Mocha (dark brown) Leather interior and a Black Stayfast Top, Black components, steering column, etc..

I know there are a bunch of haters of metallic…..but……these Porsche colors aren’t really metallic……there are a super, super fine metallic.    Hey John, once you get done saying “What the f*&^!”, can you make a color spray-outs of these colors for me to look over?

Yep, should I stay away?  Any insight would be appreciated.

Another option would be just to use a oval deck lid and patch-in the vents.   Leave off the rain gutter things inside to make more room and better air flow.

I paid $650 for that stupid hood too.  The guy on samba promised me that it was a pre-58 hood but obviously when you looked underneath at the ribs, it was clear I got screwed on the purchase.     I hate getting bamboozled on Samba.      I had to pay $80 to ship that on Greyhound too and had to drive to Chicago to get it.      I am pissed all over again.   Whatever…….you guys should find a great use for it on another project…..or hang it up somewhere.
