NO plywood, redwood or Douglas fir 2×6 2×12 lumber the length that you need ,long enough so you can cut it full length strips . rip it on a table saw.

in reply to: KCW randomness #3363If you rip 3/8 or 1/2 in strips from the lumber ,that gives you a 1 1/2 in. Wide strip . Thst should be plenty thick with the 8in center on the bars .cut a 1/4 in off the outside first snd use that as your spacing between the strips . I would pre dril and counter sink .
in reply to: KCW randomness #3335Good morning everyone ???john what is the spacing of the crossbar’s on your rack ? I would go to home depo and get redwood or Douglas fir 2×12 cut the thickness you want on a table saw . Or drive up here this weekend and we can cut them in the wood shop
