Jesse and I are documenting everything we do in the shop. Heres a little video we made of stripping paint from the Super beetle door.

Update.

We last left off cutting the old rear floor sections out of the pan because we are making them flat.

We went to a friends shop to roll some beads into the new sections.

After the sections were rolled, it was time to put them on the pan.

I wanted to see how strong the beads made the sections... This was before they were welded in. I was impressed!

Jesse started welding.

With the sections in, it was time to remove the stock jack points. They were keeping the pan from laying on the ground.

and now the pan is on the ground. The frame head is keeping the front of the pan up at the moment. we arent concerned though. acouple drag sessions and itll make itself flat!

Image

It is from this point we will add the suspension bits, when we get them.

Cheers!

Awesome =D> When I did my last flat pan, I cut the seam off the bottom of the frame head, welded it back together nice and hot and ground it flush.
Never caught that sucker on anything! Can't wait to see it rollin'! =P~

No progress yet. Still have to get the front brakes and Transaxle from Montana. We are doing that easter weekend.

In the mean time, we are helping a friend fit some wheels on his Caddy.

When this truck leaves the shop to get vinyl wrapped, we will be back on the Oval cause we should have all the parts by then.
