yeah… My brain is working over here too…. Scale Buggy Racing sounds fun….. I got into RC around 84 or 85.. The rc-10 had just came out when I got into it… I raced a Frog!!! I soon got an RC-10 and have been a LOSI hattin, Associated Die Hard racing MOFO ever since then!!! I have always enjoyed RC cars.. I got out of them so I could focus on my business more… I did it, it worked… Since then… The local race track has closed… Damnit.. that was awesome in the winters when it was cold… it was indoor!!!!!! well… I really didn’t think I would ever get back into it.. it’s so not like it was back in the day when we ran crystals, 1200 mah cells and brushed motors… But it’s been on my brain all day today…..

I still have my Red Cat rock crawler here. Built some piles of rock and junk behind my garage, but the dog drives me crazy barking at it when I play. Going fast sounds fun. In the Air Force over in Korea, we did indoor carpet racing with on road cars. Mega fun. I had a Tamiya Porsche 956 FWD. Had to make some special slicks for it, as the dirt threads had too much grip and would roll in tight corners. Once the slicks were on it. I could power drift it through the corners and keep a super tight line. The two wheelers were faster, but with my tight line I could usually beat them in lap count in a six minute heat. [/quote]

I was always a TAMIYA guy but dreamed as a kid of having an Associate RC10 with a full on Futuba radio… Now the cars do 50-75 mph with ease….

Back to my story a bit….   Started racing in Tucson AZ at Fast Tracks…  Raced at SRS in Phoenix a few times.. Like i said.. Die hard AE guy…  Also loved the MIP 4×4 conversion for the rc-10…  Those go for like $2K on ebay now.. if you can even find it.

always did 1/10 offroad, almost exclusively electric.. but dibbled with the rc-10GT for a couple years..

Hard to believe where Traxxas has taken their stuff… You can buy it in summit and Jegs now… and they sponsor ashley force I think!!!  Back in the day… I raced with Wilder P Barrows….  he was a traxxes team guy…  I wonder what he is up to these days. 😉

Local dude came by with a wwII 4 cylinder 2 stroke 72hp drone engine. Made by mcculloch. Basically, its a 2-stroke vw engine. He has it for sale.

    Experimemtal aircraft?

Motorcycle? Rail dragster? Somebody should buy it.

Here you go John, I know you dig cubs…this is one of my bigger planes….110” wingspan with a DA50 motor on it. It is an absolute blast to fly. It even has bushwheels that are made by a couple guys in Alaska just like the full scale. ???

What does the dude want for it?

On craigslist for $1000. 2 engines. One in pieces. 5 propellers.

72hp should work for an experimental aircraft. Thats more HP than a 1600cc vw. Probably lighter than the cut-down 2 cylinder VW engines.

Not sure if that’s a good price or not…the biggest thing I can see is parts availability…could be cool tho. Maybe Red know more…Ben?

I saw a couple of those drone engines on gyro copters near George AFB nearly 40 years ago. They are real noisy, almost ear splitingly noisy.  I wouldn’t want it for any price.

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
