Nice to have some of the fleet back in good working order
in reply to: Motorcycle racket #57553Too much fun… congrats, Audrey!!!
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57538Yeah, I’ll take a look around and see if there are any leaks. I remember on the first trip that it was using around 2 gallons more than the Pamper at each fuel stop though…
in reply to: KCW randomness #57537They do, so they get their money but KCW has not received its money. I guess you could cancel the transaction with your bank, maybe? The auction is already a sunk cost, so they’re running it again for us. I wish they would have some barriers in place to prevent this sort of thing though…
in reply to: KCW randomness #57514Hard to tell from those photos, but if that’s a legit Manx that’s a pretty great deal.
in reply to: VWs At The Springs 2021 #57513Hmmm it’s only 600 and some odd miles for me, but this sounds so fun!
Maybe we can meet in Reno and drive together, Sarah??
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57512Oh, also my gas mileage is SUFFERING 😔
I might be driving it a little too hard sometimes, but even when I’m being nice to it and cruising at a good speed on the highway I’m only getting like 15MPG if I’m lucky… My range sucks. A bigger tank is in my future if I can’t figure it out. Maybe its the hot rod heads and 48 IDFs? Any ideas?
in reply to: JJ’s Class 11 Oval #57511Great to hear that little thing worked so well for you! What’s the next race?
in reply to: The "BBOE" 67 Poptop #57510Pop-top > panties drop!
in reply to: Audrey’s Adventures with Home Ownership #57509Ya! That old wallpaper is really cool, but definitely not jealous of you trying to strip it all!
in reply to: Scott’s ‘61 Shorty #57508Damn! Nearly there! At least bodywork should be brief!
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57505Yup, sure is! Gianni drove her grandparents around in the bus for a bit, they used to have a 1965 21 window that was the same colors.
Hubcaps are pricey though… I’ve already got over 1000 miles on this thing and 6 nights in it. Got my first paint chip out of the way so I don’t need to worry about that as much. Only issue so far is some squeaky ass brakes… Talked to Franz yesterday and think the shoes could be glazed or the springs might be touching the drums… I’ll try to tear it apart today.
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57425Hit the hot springs last night then slept on the edge of the bluff with the doors open. It was awesome to hear the waves all night. Plenty of awesome places to pull off the road and camp in Big Sur!
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57410First night in the bus was awesome! So stoked to finally be able to comfortably sleep in my own bus. We woke up just outside Big Sur at hit the road at 6 to catch the sun coming up on the water. Pretty nice first morning in the westy!
in reply to: Willbur's 65 SO42 #57356Yup, it was at OCTO. Driving it up to Bjg Sur Wednesday or Thursday this week for its first camping trip! I’ll get some proper photos soon. I also don’t think this bus has ever been to Roosters, so maybe we can do that later this month?
