Thanks so much for all the love and support on buying a house!!! Iโ€™m so excited for this awesome opportunity and so thankful for my Mom and Dad who I definitely couldn’t have done it without! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Here she is… 850 Kimball Ave!! Iโ€™ll be right down the road from KCW so I never have to miss out on all the fun going on ever again!!

I think we should just throw full on Block Parties now ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅณ

My Mom and I are partnering up to do this project together of course – so youโ€™ll hear a bunch from both of us Iโ€™m sure ๐Ÿ˜ who knows, if we have enough fun with this project we might just keep buying and fixing up Kimball!๐Ÿ˜œ

This is from Closing Day 5/4/21! Whoo hoo!!!CD039D54-B740-4434-B284-B82F4D32042C

The location is the biggest draw for sure!! Literally across and down the street – my mom likes to look over at it from up on deck ๐Ÿ˜ plus our contractor Scottโ€™s shop is right down the road too – he built KCWs building way back and my parents house!

Itโ€™s also on a HUGE lot – so Iโ€™m thinking I need to start coming up with a business plan for VW parking rates ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰

The house itself is still really solid though- built in 1925 out of Adobe bricks!! So although weโ€™re going to end up redoing ALOT, the bones are strong ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป Itโ€™s also got a barn and shed in the back that are both actually pretty clean and big on the inside! The most recent inhabitants were not legally allowed to be on the property and were likely living in those back buildings… there is lots of evidence of activities that go hand in hand with that ๐Ÿ™ˆ but hey- nothing a little clean up canโ€™t get rid of!

    Hereโ€™s a few Before pics…

    C2AC86F4-A276-4478-A483-E1A6EE1C674997DEF1C6-D32B-441E-80EE-E00A7C0EFC2F595B4E75-9E39-4D6A-9BAC-31376FD9442D5C60C7C8-B4E0-4BAA-A553-955797244502

Weed in the backyard- literally ๐Ÿ˜œย 8021BE7E-31D6-453F-AE1A-8E147A88CCC2AA8BFBEE-8AA5-4979-9C01-412A4CAF81A7CDAE72B8-3D57-4B5D-BAA2-9955296488F9
    8B2109A6-E4B5-42D3-B224-90CC180773DF

TONS of garbage/junk all over the outside of the property to clean up, the floors in both bedrooms and the bathroom are either majorly sloping or not attached at all and acting more as a trampoline! ๐Ÿ˜…

lots of work to do! But the location makes it no biggie to take our time if we need to ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

If I canโ€™t sleep/go potty in the house, then all those nights in Greta on the lot still counts as camping nights over my dad, right?!? ๐Ÿ˜œ

Looks cozy, and quite the project. But I know the Jones’ energy will prevail. I think camping in the back yard in ones’ bus definitely counts.:)

Dang Audrey! That looks really nice! vintage adobe, solid house for sure. I was picturing something more like the boarded up one by the compound…

Big lot= super plus!! That thing is better than money in the bank!

I wish there was opportunities like that in my hood.

Yes John you should own the whole block ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow!! Thanks so much guys!!! ๐Ÿ˜ itโ€™s going to be a big but fun project for sure!!

I think itโ€™s so cool that this house is historic, coming onto 100 years old very soon! The Adobe bricks are SOLID too… I hear buildings made out of Adobe can stand for thousands of years if cared for properly.. hopefully the work we are doing will help preserve it better than it was before ๐Ÿ˜

Last week/weekend we got started on some yard and shed clean up + did major demo!!

My current house was a 1948 built renovation project. ย It had carpet over the hardwood floors that was soooo ugly that when I was unloading it at the dump one weekend a random stranger recognized it from having looked at the home while it was listed.

Itโ€™s hard work but Iโ€™m a bit envious of you all. ย Thereโ€™s so much cool stuff out nowadays to incorporate into remodels.

Love watching houses get torn down and rebuilt! Looking forward to progress pics, we don’t have adobe construction out here so that’s interesting too.
