Mad props that you drive your shit as far as you do and as often you do.

I find it hilarious how many people I know that tow their buses to shows; buses by the balloons, buses by the bridge, Jerome, Kelly Park….. The list goes on.

I’ve been lurking since you started the thread on the TomTom deluxe- ’06 or ’07?

I don’t post much, but since the TomTom days, I check out your page typically Mon-Fri to see updates on builds, including when I was traveling in Asia, Europe, and South America.

What can I say? I have a fetish with split window buses and you seem to always have a bus build going on lolz

I recommend the CB Performance Rhino mounts front and back. https://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/6212.htm

That looks beefy. Thank you for the recommendation.

Since this is the random forum, I have a random question for the group- what Transmission Nose Cone Mount do you use?

I rebuilt my trans around 2500 miles ago and when I installed the trans I put one of those new Chinese Wolfsburg West nose cone mount and its already ripping. I now have a nice clunk.

It’s a lot of work to replace every 2k miles. Man I wish I was 20 years old again where pulling my trans and putting it back in the day before OCTO wasn’t a big deal to me.

Where do I find Gabriel? šŸ§

Gabe the key guy is on the Samba. His user handle is gabvwkey

    Here is his website: https://gabvwkey.com/

If you are going to OCTO on the 3rd of June, he always has a booth next to the OCTO booth.

Also- your deluxe is looking so fresh!

One of my favorite BBBs yet. The rain didn’t stop us from having an amazing time.

We walked through your camp Friday morning and this ’63 Ruby Red Panel caught my eye. It’s bad ass. Who owns this bad boy?

Iā€™ll be coming from that direction too, maybe we can cruise out with you?

If you are still looking for people to drive out with, DM me on IG @Coleman_lifestyle

I can plug you in with different groups leaving So Cal area between Wednesday and Thursday. Some of the Campbodians from SD are meeting up with me at 5am in Beaumont on Thursday; if you are an early riser

Yep, red loc-tite on the glad nut. I know itā€™s controversial, but Iā€™ve never had one come loose, and a good 1/2ā€ impact gun will break it free when you want it to come apart. I also like to use an impact to install the glad nut.šŸ¤« 8 dowel crank/flywheel seems to have less problems with the glad but coming loose too.

This is all great info. Thanks Franz. I’m rocking the 4 dowel but good to know for future reference.

    Thanks again for the feedback,

    Johnny

    Red Lock-tite. .

    Thanks Mike. No damage luckily.

I did end up using lock-tite the second time around to be safe.

Fingers cross this does the trick.

    Merry Christmas!

    Happy Holidays
I put some miles on my bus for BBB prep after I rebuilt the steering box, put in a new clutch, and resurfaced the flywheel. I had the gland nut come loose at 253 lbs/ft (going off of the idiots book) dry.

I’m curious to hear what do you guys torque gland nuts to on 1600s?

We are leaving Wednesday, spending the night at Pioneer Town, getting our fade on at Pappy and Harriets, and then headed to BBB Thursday.

Yes I agree it’s nuts that people get in line on Monday for a show that doesn’t start until Thursday.

However, what I LOVE about BBB is that I get to see friends that I don’t get to see often. I’m looking forward to seeing the people I know from Nor Cal, AZ, UT, CO, and FL showing up and camping.

It drives me nuts when I go to a car show that is on asphalt, and that is dead by 12pm (OCTO). At BBB I get to cruise around and BS with people for hours and not feel rushed. It’s also the best organized campout that we attend.

I love the attention to detail. The overspray on the cradle and torsion housing is just like factory.

    Great job!

This is one bad ass bus

These bad boys will make the inside of your bus somewhere between Hot and Africa Hot! You can run them all night off of a portable battery pack/ power bank.
