Started on front door window assy yesterday.  Nobody has Sigla glass felts avail. so I modified Sekurit felt to work.

Trimmed out the center vertical section of the lower felt. 373E9E4C-BAE9-499C-B2A9-DD35BAE282D6

Cut down the trimmed out section to a 1/4” wide and to length if the latch plate. EA208927-805E-4842-9A9E-93AF388C21C8

Glued that to the lower felt creating a slightly wider channel for the windows lower slider to fit into. 912913DB-BF8E-4842-A360-C64C5332A164

Also glued felt along the bottom of the stationary window for the slider window to glide along.A94AB9C5-1AD1-45FD-BC0C-D84CAFDF243D

Bus is looking really nice!  I’m sorta leaning towards the black myself. Didn’t think black would look good but seeing it …

Oh man it’s looking so PURDY!  I’m having a hard time with the trim filler color choice.  Definitely not black.  I like the blue, and I really like the turquoise, and then there’s the red, which is what I thought was original, but that seems to be open for debate…  We need a vote!

I found this on The Samba… wonder which red that is?

The Red insert makes the Turquoise paint pop!

You can’t go wrong with red or turquoise

    Looking killer!

mechanicals are coming along nice! Long block finished. I ran into an issue with a set of rings while checking their gap. Found a couple rings with HUGE gaps. Almost like they were from another set? Weird.  But got another set in the mail and now it’s all together.

    BB8EAC26-3F9B-490D-9EDE-F498947E6B9D82D16340-ADB9-407F-9E41-A8B6AABE07C2AC63FB38-FBE0-41D4-9C08-180FF99BEF2E839FF7CC-22F9-4692-AE9B-2C3CD836698A7D2B8B46-C544-4077-9128-44EDFCA716F3

moved onto the transaxle for a bit so this thing can be a roller. Got everything cleaned up and laid out. A couple shift forks were broken in Tom’s core but I found NOS ones in Germany this summer and now this core should turn into a happy little gearbox.

    happy holidays!
