Started on the front beam today. Scraped a few pounds of crud off. 

Shock bushing sleeves were stuck to the lower mounts as usual.

Front shift rod coupler forward grub screw broke, and the rear part of the coupler was seized to the rod. More items for the parts list. 

Pulled beam and started on tear down. 

We will build it if it comes.

More love today. Pulled the steering box & master cylinder. Hotsy washed all the front end bits. 

Blasted all of the suspension bits that will be getting painted. 

King pin seals are cracked and worn. 

Pressed the spindles apart for seal replacement and inspection. All of the king/link pins look good!

Fully disassembled and degreased. 

We will build it if it comes.

well… I think I am way off on the timing of the motor on this one… Franz told me they just ordered parts last week..,, I thought they were building it… so.. Very unlikely it will be done for the VW at the Springs..  opps… 😎  😎  I was over optimisitc!

But, good news, Pat came in early early and is taking Brendan OFF the dolly, and put yours ON a dolly!!!  Get it off the lift, AND, now we can power wash the bottom side before we start putting it back together… 😎  Get it all clean, and all the old crud out of everything!!!

Well as cool as it would have been to join you guys at the springs with the bus, the timing seemed very ambitious.  The invite still stands if you guys want to come to Wintertux (Ketchum) before or after the springs. Look forward to seeing everyone again.  I’m still high on stoke from Silverton!
