Thanks Tom. I like to check the book for pictures of how things are supposed to be. Iโve done this job for a while now, but always like references.
Like John said, I installed the hard lines and bleed the brake system today. The pan only needs the heater cables/controls and pedal assembly now.
I think you said something about a Gene Berg shifter earlier?
I welded up a stainless line to convert the dual circuit master to the stock reservoir.Pan gasket installed with original-style tacks and glued the seams/corners.
Beautiful pan!!!!!!!๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Proud and Stubborn ๐๐ป
Pan is really looking great Franz!!!!
Yeah Berg shifter for sure….I think the GB6730 11″ and add 6710MN for the “finger grip” shift handle option….
LOVE how ya made a stainless 2:1 to use the original reservoir…..really SWEET!!!
Really coming together NICE!
Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!
Iโll order one. Thatโll be a nice piece of jewelry. ๐
The engine is up next. Make sure the tin fits perfect and then pop it apart for paint. Silver fan shroud and black lowers.
What are you thinking distributor-wise? Bosch 009 tried + true? Maybe a cast iron Bosch 019 for vintage look? CB Performance magnaspark?
Here we go. Getting started on headliner padding.ย
We will build it if it comes.
Yea Franz, I think the shroud will have a good look with silver n black.ย I’m thinking the 019 with Pertronix inside?ย If that won’t work out, we could do the 009 with Pertronix….
Pat – She’s looking good out in the sun!!!!!ย The Sea Blue has always been a turn on…lol!
Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!
Project is is fast forward right now!!! ย Iโm sooooo glad Pat has started doing headliners!!!
Proud and Stubborn ๐๐ป
Installed all of the padding and wrapped around the rear window yesterday.ย
Finished up the drivers sail panel this morning.ย
We will build it if it comes.
Berg shifter ordered. They said somebody just called and ordered the exact same thing before me.
Tires on the way from the u.k. 145/80 and 205/70
Wow Pat!ย Rear window and DS sail panel looking GREAT!
Thanks Franz for ordering the shifter and tires!ย Yeah, I dig that fingergrip handle, first tried it on my buggy with the shortest shifter they make….great for grabbin’ gears….I think the tire combo is perfect….
Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!
Wanted to get the headliner finished today. Finally got there. WOOO!!!
We will build it if it comes.
One piece at a time. The 1/2 cylinder tin edge needs to be extended.
The fan shroud has holes for the thermostat flaps, I like to install the original flaps minus linkage and tack welded open. Cool? Or we can shave the holes?
Another question, since weโre doing the vintage distributor, maybe a generator/regulator would be more appropriate? Cons would be itโs not as simple or as easy to replace. The regulator is not solid state either. More expensive.
