Mark L sent a correct early upward mirror. Thanks.ColeBModeratorFebruary 24, 2020 at 9:32 amPost count: 1987
Nice! Glad you got it👍🏼 Did the truck come with the correct mirror arm screws? The rounded head things? If not, I smuggled some out of Europe last summer haha. I found a few and knew it is hard to get the correct head and pitch here in the states. Let me know if you need some I can send themColeBModeratorFebruary 24, 2020 at 10:23 amPost count: 1987

Wood bed and hoop slats showed up yesterday. Started laying out holes in bed slats this morning and picked up some urethane to seal them.
We will build it if it comes.maukarParticipantFebruary 26, 2020 at 4:38 amPost count: 57
What’s that say? Paintcare Recovery Fe?
Is that to keep the not empty cans out of the landfill?

Didn’t even notice. Same with tires here too. Colorado cares. 😁
Final paint inspection, and vent wing seals today. She’ll be ready to drive home by Saturday.John JonesKeymasterFebruary 26, 2020 at 9:22 amPost count: 7344
OH SHIT!!! Ready to drive home!!!!!!!
The oldest Single cab around…. 😎 I can’t wait to see the hoops and canvas on it!!!! I might have to cruise long with Cole when he drives it home.. Just to get some epic pictures….8-)ColeBModeratorFebruary 26, 2020 at 9:07 pmPost count: 1987
Looking so good! Are you going to put the hoops/canvas on it Franz? Can’t wait for more road trips JJ!FranzKeymasterFebruary 26, 2020 at 9:56 pmPost count: 3917
Yeah, probably tomorrow. Kendall is drilling and clearing wood slats. I finalized vent wing seals and painted the mirror arm today.JbParticipantFebruary 27, 2020 at 12:07 amPost count: 650
man those piano vents are baller!!
The canvases aren’t really rated for road trip action from what I’m told…..beats the shit outta them. Around town is fine but extended hiway miles🤔 our buddy has one from Poland (or wherever they from) for his 61 SC and takes it off usually before we log miles.Von_hanselParticipantFebruary 27, 2020 at 8:03 amPost count: 23
Love watching this build! Not everyday do you get to see a piano hinged Single Cab.
Is the hoops and Bow, and canvas reproduction or original?
Sorry if that was already mentioned.FranzKeymasterFebruary 27, 2020 at 8:28 amPost count: 3917
It’s does have an original canvas. I‘m not sure it’s in the greatest shape. We’ll see soon.Pat KKeymasterFebruary 28, 2020 at 1:22 amPost count: 1646
Fit hoop bows this morning. Popped back in about 6 o’clock this evening and finished drilling, countersinking and sanding bed and hoop bows and applied first coat of urethane.
“I’m tired. I think I’ll go home now.“
We will build it if it comes.mtnbusParticipantFebruary 28, 2020 at 5:52 amPost count: 1292
What an awesome truck ! You guys killed itFranzKeymasterMarch 2, 2020 at 6:07 amPost count: 3917
We went to a cars and coffee GTG yesterday morning. Double debut and maiden voyages, I was nervous.
Found a few things to tinker with…
The front end looks like its sagging. Maybe a broken spring? I’m going to take it apart this morning…I can at least flip the springs to give it a lift.FranzKeymasterMarch 2, 2020 at 8:11 amPost count: 3917
Bd pop quiz. Check out the spring stacks. Notice the extra leaves on the right? I assume the difference is commercial or passenger bus? Maybe early vs. late?
We have one of each on this truck. I don’t think it makes a difference….unless the center block/grub screw on the beam is clocked different?🤷♂️ The springs look good, no cracks.FranzKeymasterMarch 3, 2020 at 9:55 amPost count: 3917
It seems that Barndoors were offered with one 4 leaf pack and one 5 leaf pack like we have here, OR both 5 leaf packs.
…So I re-installed the packs flipped. Which got about 3/4″ lift on the front end. I also found some late-model O-rings on the link pins, which I removed to allow the spindles to seat properly against the torsion arms. Had to re-set the toe and center the steering wheel again.
Changing gear oil currently. To flush out all the metal from break-in. I have the fuel tank divider panels, and canvas tilt to install later today, and then I am absolutely finished with this one!!
