Been working on small parts. Cleaned dimmer switch. Rebuild fuel petcock. Door handle chrome fitment and assembly.
I really like this logo.
And installed the brake light stuff. The earliest I have ever put together. Flat license light.FranzModeratorJanuary 14, 2020 at 8:43 amPost count: 4355
Gas tank painted. & beautiful. Door handles installed, then found a broken latch mech, removed it, and installed a new spring in the mech to keep the passenger door from self locking.
Some other small stuff too. Doug delivered the seat with correctly done padding and covers.ColeBModeratorJanuary 14, 2020 at 9:33 amPost count: 2268

Thanks for the attention to detail. OG hardware and allFranzModeratorJanuary 16, 2020 at 8:05 amPost count: 4355
Heater control installed. I had to make the tiny stepped pin to attach the cable.
Also missing the choke cable that would go in the tube next to the heater control. Not that we’re using a choke cable with dual Weber’s….it would just look more finished with the knob. An old broken cable would do the trick.
I polished the paint on the original steering wheel. It shows its age for sure, but it’s only original once. You can see the wear marks from the hands of all the previous owners. That is history.
If you guys want it blasted and painted let me know.ColeBModeratorJanuary 16, 2020 at 8:12 amPost count: 2268
Original! I like it.
I’ll look for a choke knob👍🏼FranzModeratorJanuary 16, 2020 at 8:30 pmPost count: 4355
Not that you *need* them, but there is only one fuse block cover and its broken. Be on the look-out for two.
Barndoor gas tanks get a petcock stencil. This truck-specific tank had an original stencil. …Though it does little good, as you can’t see it through the fuel door.
Original fiber washers and gas tank mounting bolts with new washers.
Spare tire, seat, foot rest, and floor mat make it look almost finished.omr_007ParticipantJanuary 16, 2020 at 8:47 pmPost count: 12
I love the unrestored wheel. 👌🏼John JonesModeratorJanuary 21, 2020 at 12:37 pmPost count: 8107
Franz has been shaking this gas tank with some clean hardware in it and some straight lacquer… it had a tiny bit of varnesh and shit in it… Better safe than sorry.. or broke down on the side of the road with a clogged petcock… 😎 I think it’s the last thing to put in to drive this rig.. 😎
