Sucks that this happened in my own driveway after we got it looking good, but Will has the know-how to fix it and now the money to fix it with his new job.

The project is going ahead without the bug at the moment, getting all of our batteries and motor components working together on a bench

You don’t need the Bug til assembly, tell your dumb Bro to fix the hood and have it ready!!!! No clip damage?????? That was a Big hood dent!!!!!???

Finished up my senior design. We ended up realizing that there wasn’t going to be enough time outside of regular class to design, fabricate, and test the rear suspension this semester, so we focused our efforts on getting a running drivetrain. We tested and mapped the pins for each battery which tell us important things such as charge states, current outputs, and temperature. We were able to test the charge and discharge the batteries and run the Small Drive Tesla motor on a bench. Here’s a picture of the battery box we built and some artwork I put together.

What you going to use the gas tank for now? Bootleg whiskey?

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

Yo don’t fuck up this car anymore. Trade it to me some cash and the rusty single cab out back and u can have a nice OG BAY. Fuck electric bullshit. BUYATesla kid. Then u can cruise Cali in style with a bed in back when needed. Zoey needs a ragtop and I don’t have space for 2 buses. Kinda sucks.😬😜🤪and I need a new project. Man I am itchin as we speak

Jesse.. You are saying, you would trade your dialed in bay windows, road warrior first year low light bay for a rag top bug??  You can’t sleep in that thing!!!!!!!!!  😎

Hey Willy or Glenn.. myself and Zach my helper have been talking about electric swaps the past few days..

do you have a Parts list you used? Looking at ev west and it’s alot of info to take in..

can you give me a basic dumbass guy breakdown?  I’d like to do one.

    Hey Andy!

Definitely I have a file I could share with you. With the EV scene at the moment there are two directions: convert with new industrial motors or convert with used EV motors.

I chose the latter because it integrates several items that I know reduce the reliability and offers better ‘bang’ for buck.

I have a function diagram that illustrates it pretty well I’ll post up later

Here’s the functional schematic. The gray box is supposed to outline the motor that we used, so all of those parts plus the transmission were one piece. However, if you go with the industrial motor you will have to buy the motor, transmission adapter, and motor controller separately.  There are obviously more parts then just this, but it gives you a better idea. It definitely isn’t cheap just yet, but hopefully once the market becomes saturated with EVs we will see this being a much more enticing option. If you want a further breakdown on the parts we used email me moss.glenn@gmail.comfun
