Well here’s the recap on Glenn’s Weekend (Gulf) Blue ragtop that was my first paint job at the beginning of last summer! This was my first car in high school and is now Glenn’s project here in San Diego.
Scuffed:
Primed:
And sprayed:
And outside:Β
Its been in the driveway waiting for Glenn to get back from his study abroad trip in New Zealand, and he’s finally back at it. He’s working on finishing wet sanding it today.
Once its finished I think we need to do a little brake job, tune the motor up, reassemble everything, and he should be cruising again!
Get to work you slackers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! πΒ πΒ πΒ πΒ πΒ πΒ π
Are you guys going to start buffing today???Β Sand it to at least 1500 grit… and start polishing… You guys better get some 1″ tape and tape up edges, and shit, chrome bits…Β My preference for compound is 3m perfect it… just do the number 1… and buff each area 2-3 times….Β even if it looks done.. or it will die back some..Β You should probably stick to foam pads… the wool is more aggressive and easier to burn through with..
Good luck!!! πΒ π
You better go buy the shit today to do it…. Paint stores will be closed till tuesday I am sure!!
Glen has been living a year of winter?
doesn’t look much like winter to me. πΒ π
I think heβs up to 2000 now, finishing up his last few areas… not sure where he looked up how to do this ???
Progress is slow though. He was working with me for a little bit in the garage and now is on the couch on his phone ?
I guess the year of Winter has taken it out of him?
Is it shiney????Β How’d it come out??? Lets see pics punks! πΒ do work son!!!
Not shiney yet… He finally went and borrowed a friend’s DA yesterday and just finished making his first pass on the driver’s side and is starting on the rear. I’m surprised he hasn’t posted up with his own details yet… ?
put some damn shoes on son!!!!!!!! πΒ Β You think your at the beach or something?? π
Finished the first compounding with 3m super duty last night. Going to do one more today once the new pads show up then hit it with 3m finesse-it.
That super duty is like using toothpaste to buff… π
