AHH.. NEW project time!!!!   I started looking things over Thursday on this rig and then helped a friend paint a ghia on Friday…

I figured the cargo doors had been left on for a reason… and yeah, they didn’t line up.. Bent the upper right hinge, and lower left hinge and got things lined up again…

Going to work on hanging parts and checking fits, and addressing the last metal work stuff…  and order what metal Ineed.  Looks like the dog logs need some love, and some misc stuff….

But wanted to get this thread started!

Heck yeah! Hopefully, this is one of those rare projects you all come across where there aren’t any crazy surprises. The nice thing is you can also bug Cole about stuff the whole time!

Hey there and heck yassss!  This is Tom of Tom’s 23 Window Deluxe, and I am so thrilled to see her in the shop!  I have owned this rolling shell and its myriad of parts for about, oh… 308 months!  So excited to have it in the right hands!

That’s been a tough question for me John.  My first bus was a lowered 21 window, and the personality of that thing was just so much fun.  For this one I’m thinking stock but with engine and transmission upgrades to make her highway safe.  I’m definitely open to ideas.  Chime in everyone!

Yes on stock for the colors though.  Too gorgeous with that Turkis!

Couldn’t hurt to lower is some with modern tires to go along with the engine/trans upgrades.

I’d agree; I thought Parker’s 21 had a very street friendly and usable stance, bonus was no reduction boxes to mess with.  It’ll be nice whatever route you choose!

started hanging parts to make sure the fits are right. Looks like there was an accident in the rear driver corner at one point, so the whole corner of the bus is crooked there… JJ pulled out the porta power and we got the decklid opening back to a square 👌🏻A9AF41EE-6C0A-4FB2-8F92-6B3F87516DECEB55154C-2210-4F24-8AD5-3DE9D79BE586387895FA-7231-400E-B775-AE086BDD83D827726F7F-C0AD-42CD-A734-1F6D2696375000952FC4-38E4-4B42-A3FD-FCF62E9C257DDecklid, engine lid, apron, and passenger door are fitted 👌🏻 Driver and cargo doors are waiting for the metal work around them /on them before they’re fully fitted.71A6CC97-AF2A-450B-9A0D-33B7AFFD6F37

more metal work for that corner… JJ got it looking much better in a couple spots 👌🏻54CAF9F2-BD1D-472B-9CE2-4CA75FC8FFCA19F54027-1225-4BD3-BAD3-58D267E4E488

I metal worked the decklid and engine lid yesterday, and body worked the engine lid – it’s almost ready for poly 👍🏻

    Back on it today!!
