in reply to: KCW Caddy…. #11653
Well lookie what I got started! 😀 😀
My buddy just said he’s looking for a diesel. Too bad… the things you’ve done to this is top notch bad ass custom stuff.
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #11579Starting a fresh motor is nerve racking and satisfying…
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #11509Getting closer! Tins all re-worked and painted, air cleaners painted, all assembled. Test stand break in today!
I’m going to try out CBs Black Box this time, so we made some vacuum ports in the manifolds for that.
in reply to: Parkway projects #11330Super fun driving the hot rod 72 x 83 36hp.
72 … Offset ground stock 69 crank to Chevy rods? I ask because I’m about to build a mouse motor with that crank…

in reply to: BrownCloud KCW baja race team #11232Kicking ass guys!! I’d hate to see you guys lose oil from a bent sump plate. All it takes is one good size rock to kick up and bend the stock sump plate. Is there a skid plate? I’m assuming there is, so my point here is probably pointless! 😀  I’d suggest a billet sump plate in this case. Or just tell me to shut up!! ? Sure wish I had the time off to hang out and be a part of this adventure!
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #11135Notchback is my favorite in the vw fleet
Hell yeah Peet! Its the favorite in my fleet too!
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #11069Thanks for that but I meant the quik-latches.
Oh ha! My bad. I figured out what I needed on that website, then â€found the best price on Amazon.
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #11054After seeing this post I have all sorts of ideas for these. Didn’t see any prices on that website?
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #10993Thanks Guys. If you haven’t tried Quick Latch products, check them out. Very well made, with tons of uses. I think I first saw them here on a build Scott Sain posted. He used them on his hood and deck lid.
I’m sure you camper guys could use them on cupboards and drawers.
in reply to: 66 deluxe megahatch #10992Dude you are KILLING. IT. This is a forever bus Franz. Congrats!!!
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #10900I was running tiny velocity stacks only… Now I’ll have air cleaners. I like the look of the Flat-4 Knecht air cleaners so I chopped a set down for Type-3 purposes and added some QuickLatch button latches.
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #10899Some needed tin mods. That coil wire always rubbed the tin and it bugged me. Also, I’m using a different set of valve covers this time, the breathers are in a higher location than previous. Will have to rebodywork and paint  the tins.
in reply to: Justin's 64 Notch #10898Didn’t take long to source another set of similar heads, this time they’re new CB 044 with 41×36.5 valves and single HD springs. Also changed the cam from an FK8 with 1:4 rockers to a VZ25 with 1:25 rockers. The motor is still a 2194cc 82.5×92. I couldn’t find pics of the long block. It looks like any other long block….
