in reply to: Toms rhd Oval Vert #9798
Is another marriage gonna happen soon at KCW?! Franz the ordained minister?
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9614Love the direction of this build!!! Gonna be Awesome!!! Always wanted a RHD!!!
I wouldn’t say I’ve always wanted one. Never really thought about it. I’d pretty much written off ever owning a split bus or split bug, and figured i’d just be on the lookout for something unique. I’ve always loved 67s so this was a slam dunk.
I haven’t been this excited about a project in a while. Even more excited than when I started the Notch. Probably because with a bug, everything is available and doable. There’s no bullshit Type-3 guess work. Also, it’s a driver and not a pan off nut and bolt job. Fuck that shit! My other 67 bug is like that and it’s been stalled out for YEARS. I’m about over it really. You can bet I’ll be stealing small parts and rubber from those stash boxes! Already have… Rubber is something that can be bought whenever you need it… so if I have it in hand now, I’m gonna use it!
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9587Justin what car are those rims from?
They’re the rims I pulled off my Notchback. Porsche steelies 5.5s & 4.5s
in reply to: Toms rhd Oval Vert #9583Kicked it’s ass John! Those vents look great.
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9582Fuck yes there’s a state of California mandated buff job coming up! Requirement on all 67 and older bullshit reaprays! I think there’s a check box on the registration somewhere. ✔️
????
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9547Another outlaw looker!! Your good at building em that way. It’s gonna be badass for sure!
Thanks Andy. Yeah I love that look. There isn’t enough of them in Nor-Cal… or maybe it’s just that the “scene” has gone different directions. Either way, I don’t care.. I’ll build it up for me!
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9544Got some Wide Ovals mounted up on the steelies!
Also started spitballing ideas for the “Super 1500” engine… Dug up some OG VW 1:25 rockers and added Scat swivel feet and a solid shaft. Ordered some engine and brake stuff from CB and WW. The old school mesh Okrasa air cleaners that WW sells are a direct fit onto ICTs. The engine should have a cool vintage look when all said and done. Tins won’t be black either….. I’m also going to try out the Vintage Speed push/pull linkage and stainless oil fill tower/breather.
I remembered I had a chromed glass pack hanging in my garage too. That’ll get used along with an old Thunderbird header that I need to clean up and flange to heater boxes… I love this shit! It doesn’t have to be big bad HP to make it cool and presentable!!
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9437waaaay cooool find Justin!!!! Something to get jacked up about!!!!!
Thanks Jones! Yeah.. my Notch is basically done…. aside from the motor rebuild thats just about done. I’m excited to build another driver!
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9434Don’t waste your time with kdud’s keep the 30/31 solex on a stock engine. sngle IDF of zienith maybe.
I’d never run Kadron’s.. I’m not a fan. I have a set of dual Weber 34 ICTs with single port manifolds I was planning on using. Although a single 40 IDF sounds fun… I’ve never seen one on single port heads… only seen dual port end castings used with single IDF. hmmm…
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9427Daaaang! That thing is neat.
Right??! I would’ve passed on it, if it was just your average 67…
in reply to: Website Updates #9423Yes Zack.. you’re killing it with the small annoying fixes!! THANK YOU!
I attempted to change my signature line, but I don’t see the option anymore within the “edit account” section…?
in reply to: 67 Wrong Side Driver #9420Started digging up parts straight away. I had some 5×130 drums and old CB drop spindles sitting outside.. surface rusty, but cleaned up nicely. I’ve been loving the Firestone Wide Ovals on bugs lately so I had to pick up a pair. They’ll look killer on the steelies.
This Old School Cal-Look is the inspiration…
I already had a spare complete set of 67 parts all keyed alike. The car only came with one key for the aftermarket ignition anyway.
in reply to: Website Updates #9368Tried several times to start a new thread. It was a semi-long post with a bunch of pics and got this…
in reply to: Pat’s Projects #9286125s! Oh damn.. the lil’ guys!
in reply to: Website Updates #9284Unless i’m missing it…. Is there a way to also copy an “image address” from elsewhere on this site or another site and paste it into a post? Seems now, like I’d need to have the image I want to post saved to my device/computer in order to post it.
