the wheels in the photos above are regular “deep 6” wheels, not 7R’s. Like you say Franz, 7R’s are a very tight fit in an early beetle!
Thanks for the info. I measured 7 inches across, so I just thought they were the 7R wheels.
just for anyone else that is curious (and I know most of you know this), wheels are measured inside the lips, where the tire bead will seat. You’re correct if you pull a tape across the outside these wheels will read 7″ but inside only 6″. 7R’s are very rare and can easily be distinguished by their unique barrel shape as seen here…
Ballin wheels there!!!!!!! 😎 😎FranzKeymasterMarch 30, 2020 at 9:17 amPost count: 3209

USPS texted me that parts should be showing up today.FranzKeymasterApril 1, 2020 at 9:57 amPost count: 3209
Yeah lots of good stuff. Window frames, wire harness, headlight switch, hardware, handles, and wheels.
Still need to find a steering shaft, pedal assembly, and e brake handle/rod.
I’m going to send the window frames out for chrome along with the deep 6 wheels. Probably today. Let me know if you want to hold on that stuff before I send it.Lone StarParticipantApril 1, 2020 at 11:05 amPost count: 119
Go ahead and send them out. Franz, when you have a minute could you revise the “needed parts list” and send it to me. ThanksalykatParticipantApril 1, 2020 at 11:58 amPost count: 401
One of those boxes I dropped on you guys should have a whole bunch of e brake stuff in it. There were a few old steering columns as well I think.Lone StarParticipantApril 1, 2020 at 2:09 pmPost count: 119

Wheels and window frames are out for chrome.
I removed a bunch of broken bolts from the window frames. One of the vent wing frames was cut for some reason. Needs to be welded. I’ll let the chrome guy do the brass work.MikeKParticipantApril 2, 2020 at 10:34 amPost count: 180
