Ok..
Just heard from CA. A few more boxes of parts are been sent to KCW. Hopefully today.
SWEET!!!!!! We are missing soo much… and chassis stuff too… I guess I could source you a core beam out of our stack and start getting things torn down… You need everything for the pan. everything!!!!! We need to dig out some spring plates and torsion bars.. Despite being missing stuff… it is a REALLY nice shell… Paint and body wise… Super nice.. 😎 😎
I did a few more items today… hood hinges, deck lid mounts finished up some rubber stuff… and helped Franz with the list..
I think I will work on that weird broken bow in the rear tomorrow… thats no bueno Dougs not gonna like that…
I guess I could hang fenders…. but they would just be in the way right now..
More tomorrow.. 😎
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
Packing up the King Krabs today. Will get them shipped out to KCW tomorrow.
Here are the rear wheels. 7 inch hearts. Guys these will need to be sent out for restoration, chrome and some detail work. I’ll get these shipped out as soon as possible.
Wow! 7” 911r wheels are crazy. They’re really 7”? Should barely fit with some camber.
I’m sending a core transaxle to Painter’s grinding today. Getting built into a swing axle w/ 3.88 ring and pinion.
…So we can get the chassis built, body bolted down, and started on the convertible top.
the wheels in the photos above are regular “deep 6” wheels, not 7R’s. Like you say Franz, 7R’s are a very tight fit in an early beetle!

Thanks for the info. I measured 7 inches across, so I just thought they were the 7R wheels.
One pair of wheels were sent out today. Ran out of packing peanuts, so the other pair will go out tomorrow.
Hell yeah, Sounds like we got a good start on parts.
Next we’ll need to get all the suspension and brake parts ordered.
We still need to locate a 55 or earlier e-brake rod, lever, and adjuster plates. If anybody knows of one please email me. franzmuhr@gmail.com
You know the style that goes all the way up to the panhead access panel…
Are those weights on the outside lip?

just for anyone else that is curious (and I know most of you know this), wheels are measured inside the lips, where the tire bead will seat. You’re correct if you pull a tape across the outside these wheels will read 7″ but inside only 6″.
7R’s are very rare and can easily be distinguished by their unique barrel shape as seen here…
