Attitude is everything π€Do you skin some of the surfaces in aluminum and if so, what gauge? The canopy frame looks awesome as well as the rest of the plane. Really nice, detailed work!
Check this out Mike.

That’s pretty amazing!Β I’d love to see his workshop.
I bought a 356 from a guy many years ago who’s hobby was miniature engines.Β This dude would cast his own blocks, heads, etc…Β He’d mill his own rods, cranks, valves, everything!Β He had this crazy, miniature machine shop at his house.Β He’d make steam engines, V8’s, flatheads and other stuff.Β The most impressive part was that THEY RAN!Β He had them on these little stands and would fire them up and run them, on alcohol if I remember correctly.
I’ll never forget that when I offered him $1800 for the 58 Coupe, he said ‘since we have a sort of kinship, that price sounds fine’.Β Interesting dude.
People do amazing stuff. I got skilz, but some of these guys blow me away. Old man by the name of Paul Knapp had a machine shop in Phoenix. At quitting time, he’d lock the doors, and build dead nut miniture engine replicas. He did a Wasp 9 cylinder radial that was so exact it was museum quality. He used to run them at the scale R/C meets.
Here’s a guy I subscribe to on You Tube that casts and machines his own designs.Β @simplebronzecasting
Can’t find any of Paul’s stuff online, but here is a site I waste many hours of my time looking/reading. https://craftsmanshipmuseum.com/
Edit: Paul Knapp’s stuff is on the craftsmanship museum site. Home page, click exhibits, It says Paul and Paula Knapp collection.
I am almost 100% certain the gentle man on the right is Paul. He was a very dapper fellow.Β Paul built this engine pictured. I saw it run around 1995-96. Older guy on the Older guy on the laft built the airplane for this engine. I can remember Paul telling me someone was building an airplane for the engine.
