Managed to get Bret’s ‘67 stripped on Friday.
We will build it if it comes.
Pushing along on Bret’s ‘67. This is not a full resto. We are stripping, blasting certain areas, and epoxy sealing, then it goes home.
Stripped and blasted the fenders yesterday. Lots of layers on this one to get through.
Sanded and epoxy sealed this morning.

I took beetle1 on a test drive yesterday. It still had a slight front end shimmy/vibration @ 55mph+
The brakes worked great though!
I was hoping the new tie rods would take care of the shimmy issue. But no luck. I ripped out the control arms and pressed out the ball joints + bushings. New ball joints should be here tomorrow.
Did some blasting on Bret’s ‘67, dash, door jambs, fender wells and aprons.
Rolled back into the dirty shop and sanded it all down.
Couple of rusty spots and pin holes to fix.
The rear apron had been replaced and was brazed on. Looks like took another light hit and broke the majority of the brazing.
All back together now.
We will build it if it comes.
Worked on Bret’s ‘67 yesterday.
Ended up welding about a dozen pinholes. Had to dig in two layer deep for the pass fender well repair.
Pass jack point has been smacked a bit. Dissected it from the pan and straightened it up.
Small section of the deck lid seal channel had to be replaced as well.
We will build it if it comes.
