Finished body work and laid down a couple coats of spray Polly. Paint today.
We will build it if it comes.
Sanded, sealed, &’painted. Came out great!!!
We will build it if it comes.
Chris Pope’s 71 bay in for the works. Oil change engine/transaxle, head torque/valve adjust, shocks, tie rods, alignment, brake adjust, shift coupler and bushing/seal…Plus, a battery tray and some love on the smashed driver side rear corner.
Oh yeah, and the heater tube fell out. Going to repair that and rig up the cables to the type 1 heater boxes so that the heater will be functional for the Aspen winter. This bus had the original shocks too.
I’m going to repair some wiring tomorrow and cut the welded-on bumper off to get at the battery tray replacement, and maybe see what I can do with that jacked-up corner.
umm,,, them corners are hurtin… But I bet a few hours or so with a hammer… and they will be looking better!
For a second yesterday I thought Franz was planning some serious metal work on this rig, which I figured would include me… 😎 Thank god I was wrong… 😎 I have no interest in bay window restorations. sorry…. 😎
Never make someone a priority, that makes You and Option. 🤔🤔🤔🥲
I got everything apart and ready for the hammers. Thinking I am going to cut the D pilar out to get stuff strait. Does anybody have or know of a donor section for sale? I would need the D pilar and the triangle piece.
Cut the D pilar out and spent a bunch of time hammering. It’s a mess but getting better.
More hammer work. Ready to start welding.
This corner is still kicking my ass. The skin is stretched more than I could work. I decided to cut.
Getting there. Going to dress welds and finish this corner today.
Installed parts to check gaps. And a few slits to shrink the stretched metal. Thanks, I’m pleased with the results. Ron likes it too.
Ron doesn’t give a fuck if you like him or not. He’s making himself right at home haha
