We’re not ready for the baja 1000 on November 14th. Its a massive amount of terrain to cover that we are not familiar with. Knowing that we are a new/green team its going to take a few runs to get everything ironed out and working together smoothly. The 1000 is one of the hardest races in the world (48-60 hours racing, two all-nighters), we think its better to conquer the shorter SCORE baja races first. For this reason we have decided not to enter the baja 1000 this year. The plan is to hit 2019 hard. Go for more of a series/points race. This will give us more time and practice before getting involved in the 1000 The 2019 schedule: San Felipe 250 April 3 The Baja 500 May 29-June 2 Lucerna Baja 400, September 18-22. Baja 1000, November 19-24.
This sounds like smart thinking. Good plan.ColeBModeratorOctober 14, 2018 at 9:02 amPost count: 1356

Rusty…. You missed the post that this year is a no go, but plans sound to be in motion for a full time race car next year!
Just same ol same ol stuff going on around here… 😎PeetParticipantNovember 18, 2018 at 7:37 amPost count: 146
Looks like Viry Felix got the 1 again at the 1000. Some how she finished 5 hours before the next finisher..
806 miles ÷ 29.5 hours = 27 mph average
Wow! That’s ridiculous fast. For every hour her speed was reduced to 10-15mph she had to make up in the next by going 45-50mph. AmazingColeBModeratorNovember 18, 2018 at 8:34 amPost count: 1356
Ya….. definitely looks like she did the 500 and everyone else did the 1000. Pretty crazy that they don’t give her a DNF for missing that much course? Maybe just because it’s class 11 they are more lenient? But you would think they would penalize her enough to put her in last since those other 2 cars actually did most of the coursePeetParticipantNovember 18, 2018 at 9:06 amPost count: 146
Look how close her vcp’s are stacked. I think the stella3 is just a coin counter and she collects hers really fastFranzKeymasterNovember 18, 2018 at 9:22 amPost count: 2982
We watched the live feed all day yesterday. The drone coverage was awesome!
Saw Hollenbeck roll across the finish at 11pm.
Not sure whats up with Felix’s race map. Surely 1/2 course doesn’t count for first place?ColeBModeratorNovember 18, 2018 at 9:29 amPost count: 1356
Oliver was at race mile 500 and said only 2 class 11 cars were left…. Makes sense since Viry wouldn’t have gone through there with only completing half the course…. We should sit down with a score official at some point and ask about the whole DNF if you are purposefully cutting course.
Also, update for the team. Jon is heading to Ensenada today with some cash for Oliver. He is going to start looking for a Jeep of some sort for pre running.FranzKeymasterNovember 18, 2018 at 9:35 amPost count: 2982
Eric and Dan Cornwell were talking about a specific class 11 course at the 500.FranzKeymasterNovember 18, 2018 at 9:45 amPost count: 2982

Man that baja stuff is brutal… and it’s a commitment.. I think them guys live eat and breath baja racing.. it’s a full time job.. Seems to be good at it… Your gonna have to pretty much dedicate all your time to it… GENERATIONS of family’s try to race and win that race…. it’s quite a feat!!!
