I want everyone to be clear on these rules. It says stock ratio mainshaft must be used…so that takes care of 1st and 2nd gear ratio because they are part of the main shaft. Then it says gears must be with-in 2% of stock…that means we can slightly lower 3rd an 4th ratio? (Which we hardly ever use). Any ratio/manufacture of ring and pinion is acceptable.  We can go lower than 4.37…but the parts become weak.

Then bold letters “DIFFERENTIALS” with nothing under it. Like they forgot to write the rules for that part? I take it as anything is acceptable.

We received our cool differential. ZF type with friction plates set loose. Enough to keep both tires roosting, but allow slip when one tire hooks up.

Yo Franz. Wanna have a call with KB and I tomorrow to talk Baja? KB hired Oliver for the next 14 months to help us get ready for the 1000.

 

Also, Maybe you guys stay an extra day after the Utah classic and we can go rally the race car out near my parents house and talk about some changes, if any are needed. Then KB was thinking about sending the race car back out to you guys to start prepping it again. give me a time you’d be available to talk tomorrow.

Sounds like a plan! KB got a new grill for fathers day. would be fun. KB loves his books. Maybe there will be some other Bajas coming from junction? Would be fun to have a group to rally around with

Getting ready for the show! This thing leaked a quart probably of gear oil since it was parked. What should I do about that? Just fill it up? We’re going to get a new tranny anyway huh?
