Trip went awesome… !!!!  Only added a 1/2 quart of oil the whole trip!!!!  and then when I pulled in last night… I notice my main seal is pucking…. 🙄

Gonna help bubba today… and maybe do my main tomorrow…  It is such a commitment to drive an aircooled…. 😎  😎  😎  You gotta just smile and be happy it never left me on the side of the road to work on it…. KCW is a pretty awesome place to work on Volkswagens…

2600 miles last week…. Bus ran flawlessly!!! I’m glad I did the 1 1/2 empty heater boxes.  I was able to retain my old exhaust and spend less$$.  I think the lack of heater box made a bigger difference than the size of tubing…   I think in short.. if you have great heat in a bus, your motor is running too hot….. 😎  😎  😎  assuming you are running heater boxes and stock shrouds.. 😎  😎  😎    I am gonna have to address some more heat in my bus!!!!!  the older I get, the harder the cold is on me.. 😎

My carb linkage is getting wear spots in it and sticking every now and again… I need to look at that too… I am wearing this shit out.. We noticed my venturi’s need replaced too… 😎

John have you thought about using the small diesel heater y’all installed in someone’s bus awhile ago? Can’t remember the name of the bus but I believe it was a small compact heater. Maybe Chinese brand?

Didnt know how well they work or if it was something you didn’t like about them?

I like simple, less, and functional….   Corporate really really hates the smell of diesel.. I don’t want two different fuels to carry around..  I have my doubts on longevity of them cheap heaters… so I am not gonna do it. If, I do decide on a cabin style heater… I will go gas..

Ah. Got it. Didn’t know how well they worked or if there were bad reasons not to use it.

I have actually heard nothing but GOOD things about the cheap diesel heaters.. Everyone loves em… !!!I’m just being skeptical.

Well… I earned back most the money I spent on my trip doing Bubba’s pan halves. 😎   I think I will pull my engine and change my main seal… 😎  Cause this rig is heading to Primm next week!!!!!!  I’m gonna show up to a VW race in my VW!!!!!   This bus is a road warrior!!!  and my second home this year!!!   This should get me up to the mid 90’s on nights in my bus.. maybe have to drag my feet coming home and just go for a 100 nights!!!!

I have had sooooo much fun in my bus this year..

Just been fiddling around waiting on bubba to move so I can pull my bus in and pull my new motor out… 😎 😎  😎

Rounded up some better wipers and bases. found some thin early one’s.. but ofcourse they were ALL stripped out… I drilled it up to and tapped to a 5mm..  The bolt head is a little big… but looks like it will work!!  😎 😎  an allen head 5mm barrel nut bolt would work perfect here…  Also got a new drill doctor a few weeks back, and just now got to use… works perfecto!!!!  😎  I really hate dull drill bits…

Big thumbs up for the “Drill Dr.” Beth got me one for Christmas a few years ago  and I use the hell out of it (when I’m actually working) and with the adapter kit for bigger bits there is almost no reasonable size bit you can’t sharpen.

Pamper is back alive!  I had to WORK to get my gland nut off my flywheel so I could do the main seal and o ring in the flywheel.. I had to torch the fucker.. and it wasn’t a 36 so I couldn’t use the torque meister either…    anyway…. got it, replaced said seal, put a regular gland nut back on… 😎  Motor is in, and no leaks!!!  I also found my rockers where hitting my valve covers pretty bad causing the 1/2 side to leak…  dimpled.. 😎

I need to wire me up some weird trailer light set up with my center only brake light….

    and probably a tach…. 😎
