We went out to Rabbit Valley today, had lunch and went for a hike! The van did AWESOME!! Drove really great!! I also loved having the engine up higher for some of the dirt roads out there 😁

What a wild ride!! Good times at KCW!! JJ and GJ, Franz and Pat are some of the best people around!! I love Audrey’s positive energy levels.

The drive home made my butthole pucker, the snow in Utah was something I’ve never experienced.

Goldie the vanagon…anyone remember the skulls and cross bones that were on it??i think it’s haunted.

I’m sure it’s gonna let this motor loose at some point. JJ and I can hear something going on but it works.

What happened with the motor I rebuilt..only thing I can really figure out is the oil pick up tube and oil pan are too close to each other. I’ll look at that this week.

i already got a couple more things I’m gonna change next visit to KCW.

Audrey, did you say JJ was racing the vanagon??

That return line I took off when we dropped the tank decided to crack and leak after being disturbed..  Easy fix…

I drove the shit out of it around here.. Race car style!!  😎

I got to experience that “bucking” as Audrey call’s it…   it feels like.. it’s changing circuits, jets… or timing is moving around a little…??  If you give it more or less gas it goes away…   weird… not constant.. hard to get it to do it again.. but when it does…. it does buck like it’s not getting gas or the tiing is shooting up or something…    Andy did you ever notice it??

Na, I didn’t rail on it. It’s a 5500 pound pig, no racing it for me.

Spark plugs? I once had the wrong spark plugs in a Chevy truck, and it would crap out after a while when driving/fall on its face/buck.

Those plugs were new in January when I did the heads.

making up for my lack of posting with some pictures!! Been too busy enjoying my van out in nature!! Lots of hikes, and a night of attempted camping where we decided we kinda want a heater this late in the year 🤣

oh yeah, JJ found a secret race track newly built behind the shop and decided to race it around 😅 thank goodness we didn’t tip over!🤣

the bucking doesn’t happen when racing around… randomly happens just driving down the road every once and while… sometimes I think it is cold related, but it occasionally happens even when it’s not too cold… I don’t know what it is but I can make it go away. it’s also been dripping a bit of oil when I park it overnight… but the oil level is staying good, no lights on…my dad looked around under it and said everything seems ok too.

Overall, it’s driving just great for me!!! Maybe it’s just being a Volkswagen?! 😁

The bucking the vanagon is doing could possibly be water in the fuel tank. make sure the gas cap is good so it’s not letting moisture in. Try some type of fuel additive for removing water.
I’ve had this happen before.
