Looks like you covered all the basis. Nice work👍 …that throttle pivot goes on the outside of the bracket though.

Thanks Franz, I looked it up in the VW Manual for 63-67 and it shows it the way I have it. I noticed it didn’t line up right so i will try putting it on the outside.

anyone remember the sand storm last year??      Took the rest of the year to get moab out of my bus.

Yes we still have sand in the truck cab from cracking the windows for the cruise. Was it Tonys tent that was basically blown over the whole time?

HA, I thought nobody would ask. Its an intake heater. I decided not to run the heat risers to make the engine easier to work on.

Awesome! I am interested in seeing how it works since the heat risers only seen to work for so long until they are plugged.

Franz the engine looks sick, what is the thing on the bottom of the intake that the zoomed in picture is showing?

Would be amazing to see the whole fleet cruising again. This is my favorite trip of the year.

Dario I agree, I mentioned to Sonny how cool it would be to get all on them going aging for the annual gathering and get all of us into them. He said we would have to find drivers. My response was I don’t this that is a problem and we would have to draw straws. This really gets me excited for the summer. I love this trip also.

Franz that place is awesome! We did a trip on the way to Syncro Solstice to Moab and drove the back-way into the Lone Mesa Group Campground. A lot of cool area out there.

I decided to cancel the spring trip as I have too much going on.

A couple of us are working on planning a Fall trip the first couple weeks of October down to the HWY 12 area. https://scenicbyway12.com/the-byway/map/

Details to come but there is a lot of cool stuff to see down there, might even make a poker run out of it. If you guys are interested I will keep you posted on the trip details.

yeah.. this feels weird to me…… Logically speaking, factually speaking, I don’t know of anyone within 4 or 5 thousand miles that has put more busses on the road than KCW, or is more capable.. Congrats Jason on getting the work out of them… Maybe they are just trying to keep it “In state”.. 😎

Yeah I have no doubt Jason is doing a great job, but does seem kind of off even from an outsiders perspective when JJ did such a kind thing with the 21 window.

I had no idea what deal was made between KCW and Ottingers on the previous bus when I talked to them about getting another one on the road. If I had known I would have mentioned something to them. I have been trying to get them to get another bus done for over a year now after I worked on Lins Camper. I didnt care who did it just want to see them back on the road. I am not making anything on this project, just stoked to help get another tour bus on the road. Didn’t want to step on any toes and hopefully I haven’t.

This project was supposed to be a simple fix with the drive train and suspension and get it as a fun driver again. Ottingers decided they wanted to do more to it.

When they do another bus I am not sure that I will have the skills to fix metal and blend paint. I would like to help if you get the next project  as I don’t have a killer metal shop like you guys have. We should talk more about this before or at the event as I have been telling him to get the Taxi 23 back on the road. I was lucky on this project to have very minimal body repair otherwise I am sure it would be in your hands.

they are putting a lot into this bus

Kcw did for the first one for a peek at the collection.. 😎 ..Parts, tires, labor, delivery both ways.. all just to let us see…. 😎 😎 it got a mechanical rebuild!!!! 😎 Thanks to my guys who handled it.. 😎

KCW you guys did an awesome job on Smokey and started this whole event! I hope I will be able to do the same level for the 23 and have it done for the event. Excited to see both on the trail this year. Definitely glad you guys did what you did and started, made great friends out of it that may not have happened.
