yeah.. this feels weird to me…… Logically speaking, factually speaking, I don’t know of anyone within 4 or 5 thousand miles that has put more busses on the road than KCW, or is more capable.. Congrats Jason on getting the work out of them… Maybe they are just trying to keep it “In state”..
Yeah I have no doubt Jason is doing a great job, but does seem kind of off even from an outsiders perspective when JJ did such a kind thing with the 21 window.
I had no idea what deal was made between KCW and Ottingers on the previous bus when I talked to them about getting another one on the road. If I had known I would have mentioned something to them. I have been trying to get them to get another bus done for over a year now after I worked on Lins Camper. I didnt care who did it just want to see them back on the road. I am not making anything on this project, just stoked to help get another tour bus on the road. Didn’t want to step on any toes and hopefully I haven’t.
This project was supposed to be a simple fix with the drive train and suspension and get it as a fun driver again. Ottingers decided they wanted to do more to it.JbParticipantMarch 5, 2019 at 1:53 pmPost count: 588
K so I wasn’t only one that thought this was weird after the charity spa treatment on last one! Nun of my biz tho….Pat KKeymasterMarch 5, 2019 at 6:25 pmPost count: 1271
Im glad to hear they are making more of their collection useable.
Maybe they can get their whole collection up and running by donations like you and we have made from the rest of the VW community?
Hope to see both buses cruising around Moad here soon enough.
We will build it if it comes.DarioParticipantMarch 8, 2019 at 6:38 amPost count: 503
Would be amazing to see the whole fleet cruising again. This is my favorite trip of the year.JasonSParticipantMarch 8, 2019 at 7:35 amPost count: 122

Dario I agree, I mentioned to Sonny how cool it would be to get all on them going aging for the annual gathering and get all of us into them. He said we would have to find drivers. My response was I don’t this that is a problem and we would have to draw straws. This really gets me excited for the summer. I love this trip also.ModelYear1983ParticipantMarch 8, 2019 at 3:00 pmPost count: 2John JonesKeymasterMarch 11, 2019 at 10:05 amPost count: 6339
If things don’t make sense, then they just don’t make sense… sometimes decisions are not based on logic.
Phone interview?? Unlikely. In person, if your lucky…John JonesKeymasterMarch 11, 2019 at 10:17 amPost count: 6339
Jason, what’s your website so we can watch the progress..? Please don’t say Facebook..JasonSParticipantMarch 11, 2019 at 12:36 pmPost count: 122
I wont say it then, “that place” and Instagram. Not tech savvy guy and don’t want build a website as not trying to make what a do to replace my current full time job.
I will try and add more picture here with the updates. I can post some pictures on when it arrived up to the ones Cole posted.JasonSParticipantMarch 14, 2019 at 1:26 pmPost count: 122

Thanks Franz, I looked it up in the VW Manual for 63-67 and it shows it the way I have it. I noticed it didn’t line up right so i will try putting it on the outside.

Yes we still have sand in the truck cab from cracking the windows for the cruise. Was it Tonys tent that was basically blown over the whole time?FranzKeymasterMarch 17, 2019 at 12:00 pmPost count: 3372
The pictures in the manuals have been re-touched with illustration. There are a few instances where they are not correct.Baja MarkParticipantMarch 17, 2019 at 1:46 pmPost count: 393John JonesKeymasterMarch 18, 2019 at 7:32 amPost count: 6339
I’m thinking there are better places to camp than in the sand lot…. 😎ColeBModeratorMarch 18, 2019 at 8:15 amPost count: 1502
