Today I started working on the wiper assembly and getting it all cleaned up, pulled the mechs apart and cleaned and regreased them as well. 

After that franz suggested I try and shine up that fancy wiper motor cover. So I got it all wet sanded down, and polished it up and reinstalled.

After that I found all the missing hardware that was needed and got all that cleaned up today as well.

Started the day off with getting the wiper assembly all put together. Once I did that and tried to install it I found out quickly that the radio speaker and the wiper assembly where both interfering with one another.  So I pulled the speaker out and started to figure out a solution. Since the wiper motor was out I tried to flip the curved long armature to see if that would gain me the needed room (witch it did not), and wile doing So I tested the motor all to find out that the grease in the motor was super gummed up and preventing the motor from turning. So I then got the motor tore down, cleaned it out, and got it working again with some fresh grease. Once that was done I was able to turn my attention back to the speaker clearance issue. The trend today was 1 step fwd, 2 steps back, but sometimes that’s how stuff goes, just gotta work thru it.

Heres what I’ve made up so far for the speaker adapter so I can get the needed clearance from the speaker to wiper assembly.

Kelly, How big a motor is Franz building for this??  I will say… at your elevation,  I had LOADS if power!!!!  😎  and you guys don’t have ANY hills or mountains!!! it i SOOOOOO FLAT in texas!!!!  😎

Yesterday I was able to get the speaker adapter mounted up, then blasted for paint and installed in the car, then installed the wiper motor, then I tackled the wiring up of the wiper motor. I hid the voltage drop behind the dash bracket for a cleaner look.

It’s been a bummer around here. One of our dogs woke up Friday after Thanksgiving sick, took him the the emergency vet.  Diagnosed with an auto immune disorder and he passed away at the house on Sunday.  Mary’s mom caught COVID-19 and is in the hospital ICU.  She’s in her mid 70’s, so hopefully she makes it out of there alive.  Keep us in y’alls thought.
