This was one of the only pieces of paneling that was intact when I got the bus. This guy repaired and refinished it and it looks great! Parts from NLAVW in Europe show up Wednesday.
Right on! Thanks for the response. NLAVW is great cause they ship quick and send it next day. Can’t wait to see this bus finished.
What color linoleum are you going with? I went with the early darker color from NLAVW and I have some feedback if you go that route.John JonesKeymasterJune 3, 2020 at 4:07 pmPost count: 6700

What is the plan for cleaning up all these junk car you left here??
Can I tow the 412 down the street to the recycler?
Do you want us to repaint the oval before it finds a new home? The paint is currently getting ruined.
Want me to list it on samba for you? $25k?russParticipantJune 9, 2020 at 10:11 amPost count: 84
surprised the oval hasn’t found a new home yetRustabusParticipantJune 9, 2020 at 9:13 pmPost count: 1964
Tried to buy that NASTY DD with no luck??? Not exactly sad I didn’t get a yes….WillyModeratorJune 9, 2020 at 9:34 pmPost count: 1139
You probably dodged a bullet Rusty, the guy who got it plans on fully restoring it.
The plan is to bring it out to San Diego again and put it on BaT. I just need to find out if doing Fuchs is still the move.John JonesKeymasterJune 20, 2020 at 7:57 amPost count: 6700
How’s your bus going…. gonna be done before the COVID is done?….😁😁😁😁😁WillyModeratorJune 23, 2020 at 2:53 pmPost count: 1139
Hell if I know. He now has pretty much every part he needs to make it a functional camper so hopefully soonish. I asked the other guy with the blue and white bus how long it had been there. He said 2 years… 😯WillyModeratorJune 25, 2020 at 11:35 amPost count: 1139
Salt to the wound when Dario’s bus is ready to go before mine…WillyModeratorJune 25, 2020 at 11:52 amPost count: 1139
Just to update the thread, these are the last photos I took.
Actually decided against using the NLA floor because I didn’t want to ship a big ass piece of laminate from Europe and it just looks a little dark to me. I actually went with a hospital floor material from Mexico. Cheap and really durable.
Last I saw it, minimal progress… and a nearly dead battery 😒
This is the other most recent one he’s done. Back in for final touches.

your interior is looking sweet!
FYI- I purchased NLAVW flooring and its shit to say the least. It has a felt backing that doesn’t stick well to industrial flooring glue, and it gets scuff marks very easily. Example is you fart while sitting on the vinyl and it has a new scuff mark. I have taken my bus camping twice in the last month since I installed the flooring and it looks like it has been in the bus for years. I will put it this way- My old ’67 Sundial that had its original linoleum that’s 50+ years old looked better than the NLAVW floor after one month.John JonesKeymasterJune 25, 2020 at 2:41 pmPost count: 6700
Damn Will… your bus is looking sweet!!!!! Looks like you will be ready for a road trip and Campout with your bus soon!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. Is it gonna be too nice to use?😉😉😉😉😉😉
You better hang to this rig for awhile 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆FranzKeymasterJune 25, 2020 at 6:36 pmPost count: 3627
That is not Will’s interior…just an example of what it will hopefully look like in a year or two😁
Good news is that you have a killer parking spot inside for the summer.WillyModeratorJune 26, 2020 at 10:00 amPost count: 1139
Haha right Franz! The storage thing is nice though since I wouldn’t have a place to put it right now. Still, hoping that this won’t actually take another year.RustabusParticipantJune 26, 2020 at 10:26 pmPost count: 1964
Hmmmmm, Seems like this guy must have part time business in a family owned building???? Something doesn’t add up??? How do you hold down a shop without building and billing???? Has he built like 30 Bus interiors while yours was waiting there?? Sorry to question a worker I don’t know but how long has your Bus been at his shop??!?!?RustabusParticipantJune 26, 2020 at 10:33 pmPost count: 1964
I know for sure I have Tons of shit sittin and not being built but it seems like your Bus is sitting front and center in a shop without action???WillyModeratorJuly 1, 2020 at 10:45 amPost count: 1139
He must have had this shop forever because it doesn’t seem like he’s in a rush to make rent or anything. He’s done 2 interiors before mine and then a couple of Z-beds or other small projects. The nice thing is that it’s sitting inside though, especially because I’m moving out of my place in Boulder this month and have nowhere to put it!WillyModeratorJuly 1, 2020 at 10:46 amPost count: 1139

Definitely glad I didn’t go with that floor material then, thanks for sharing. Are all of their other parts holding up okay though?
