No one has really been keeping up with the pics on this project.. I have been blasting like crazy.. what a rusty piece of shit.. With all due respect, Scoot brought me another huge piece of shit.. But no problem… I can weld… Pat can weld, and I know where to buy metal… so shit… I bet we make something out of this….
Scott wants the Nicest Shorty on Earth.. The NSE…. 😎 He is well on his way….8-)

This is going to be nice. I’d love to lend a hand on it soon.

Big hefty THANK YOU to John, Corporate, Zach, Audrey, Pat, Franz, and Cole for their help when I asked a dumb question or needed help moving the pieces of my truck.
You all made my time there great. Even the dogs Nico, Sadie and Dipshit. 🤣
Unfortunately I had to leave a couple days earlier than I had originally planned due to some unexpected family circumstances that arose.
Thank you KCW family and crew and especially John for providing me the opportunity to learn just a few of your tricks and our 20+ year friendship.John JonesModeratorApril 13, 2021 at 8:51 amPost count: 11587
After I fretted over my sandrail engine… (I think it has an ODD tick in it but trying to ignore) I did some work on this…
I need to get it on the frame table… I want to make it straight, and get it to one piece again.. So… 1st To get the rear on the table, mounted, I need rear frame bumper mount holes, Frame horns, and a narrowed torsion housing, 2nd, to get the front on, I need to finish the front of the frame jig to mount a later bus style beam to the table securely. and front bumper mount holes will get the front securely to the table… Then, can push the two peices together or apart, all the while, keeping things square…. Once it is one piece again, and mounted to the table, I can also use the table to push or pull if things are out of square…
So I fixed the bumper mount holes and got that hinge off before I went out and tried the sand rail again….. 😎
Kinda handy working on this upside down… 😎 😎 😎
Going to narrow the housing now… 😎

Did some more disecting yesterday, then dusted off the bed again… top bottom inside and out… it’s clean clean clean like lolli pop! 😎 I am going to disect the end casting this morning and get them slid in and mount bolted on, or I should say mounts… then bed up on the big table!!!! I got my chain hoist back out to help me with all this lifting… (although my back is hurting pretty bad.. nerve pain down my left leg, foot tingling pain… maybe I should chill out some… or just stretch through it…)
I wish we could raise the roof and keep the glass stock…. hummmmmmmmmmmmm

Yesterday, My back was hurting like no other, my knee and ankle…. I just took the day off yesterday…. Did my DAMNED check book register and laid down.. 8-( A good nights sleep and some rest and I usually feel better… and I do… So today I am going to dissect them torsion end castings and see about dropping the bed down on the table…. 😎 Tuesday I cleaned up the bed more and blasted it for the final time!! it’s clean now.
I couldn’t believe the Vin tag screws were still there, but no Vin tag… 8-(

I forgot how it feels to be a customer watching a dream become a reality, even if it’s a ridiculous short truck. 😂russParticipantApril 15, 2021 at 11:07 amPost count: 136

Just spent a bit of time walking around this project with JJ. It definitely needs to be Scottified.Audrey JonesModeratorApril 15, 2021 at 3:49 pmPost count: 1186
photos from earlier this week… JJ shortening the torsion housings and using his renaissance style hook lift to get the bed flipped around 👍🏻Audrey JonesModeratorApril 15, 2021 at 3:53 pmPost count: 1186BBWBParticipantApril 15, 2021 at 3:58 pmPost count: 1279
Looking at those torsion tube ends, I’m wondering if they could have been mounted and turned on your lathe. Be lot easier than cutting and grinding.
