Is that this truck? Late mirror, black bumper, painted hubcaps?

^^ if you dont allready have this piece of literature, you need to get it, it belongs with the sailing bridges single cab!! bid to win!!

1360 yonge street was the first ever dealership in canada (see photo below, this is the same photo cole posted awhile back in this thread. the photo is from a vw information magazine dated 1954). the sailing bridges single cab would have been sold out of that dealership. there is a very good chance it could be the single cab in the showroom (as stated earlier), but it would be hard to be 100% certain…but either way…it’s damn cool!!

    1360 yonge street

i’m by no means an expert, but i especially love the canadian history of old vws, and this single cab is very special and significant!! the fact that it has been verified to have been on the first shipment to canada is incredible. very cool stuff!! please be sure to share more of its history if y0u have it (pics, brochures, paperwork, birth cert, etc…within reason of course 😉

also…major kudos to john, franz, pat and the whole kcw team for all their hard work and dedication to get this one back together and on the road! fantastic!!

ps…i think sometime in the near future this single cab will need to plan a vacation back to canadian soil and be re-united with the other vws that were on that first shipment…the deluxe that pat hall pulled out of ontario (now at jake’s for a resurrection and it’ll hopefully reside out west somewhere), brians old 52 (that is now owned by open road vw in burnaby)…plus there is apparently another deluxe beetle out east and another unknown somewhere…get ’em all together for a canadian reunion ‘eh!! 😎

So awesome to have such history with a vehicle. It has been a tough one to assemble that is for sure.

Cole told me that they plan to drive it and use it. Setup with the late model drive train.

A rendezvous would be awesome! Love the history coming out with this bus and the deluxe pulled a couple months ago.

A copy of that brochure came with the truck. But always good to have another copy! I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up

Nice! Glad you got it👍🏼 Did the truck come with the correct mirror arm screws? The rounded head things? If not, I smuggled some out of Europe last summer haha. I found a few and knew it is hard to get the correct head and pitch here in the states. Let me know if you need some I can send them

Wood bed and hoop slats showed up yesterday.  Started laying out holes in bed slats this morning and picked up some urethane to seal them.

We will build it if it comes.

What’s that say? Paintcare Recovery Fe?

Is that to keep the not empty cans out of the landfill?

Politicians can think of all kinds of ways to lighten your wallet.

Didn’t even notice. Same with tires here too. Colorado cares. 😁

Final paint inspection, and vent wing seals today. She’ll be ready to drive home by Saturday.
