That’s mine in the middle.  I’m told it’ll be crated today, and shipper will pick up Monday or Tuesday.  For some reason I keep hearing Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” over and over in my head….

    Just went through the thread.

Looking forward to seeing this upclose after it’s gets stacked with all those sweet parts.

Is that a vintage speed exhaust?

    P11 carbs?

We will build it if it comes.

Thanks!  The long block may have shipped today, or it might go tomorrow (or the next day, or the next….don’t get me started 😉 ).  Anyway, you and the engine should arrive at KCW around the same time.

Yes, exhaust is Vintage Speed.  Bosch goodies are NOS, as is the Fram F3-P.  I’m not sure on the carbs.  Franz floated selling me some P-11’s and a Porsche shroud/linkage, other option are 36 DRLA’s (which may be more tunable with this engine).  We’ll see….I’m up for the Solexes provided they can work well on this setup.

Talked with Joe yesterday about delivery and break-in. He recommends strait 30 castrol oil all the time. (even in summer)

I’m a penngrade guy. I’ve had great success running it in everything. Joe says he has no experience with brad penn, so he does not recommend it.

What do you want me to do Pete? I don’t want to cause an issue with warranty(not that you’ll need it). But I feel like a zinc additive is almost necessary. Penn grade is the best oil.

I’m not a huge fan of Castrol….go with Penn.

Did he say if he actually shipped the motor yesterday?  I was hoping to wake up to an email with tracking info…and nada.

I put together one of Joe’s long blocks last year and used Brad Penn, too. I’m surprised he doesn’t use it
