Yup…👍👍👍
We will build it if it comes.
Riley started tear down for a redux box rebuild on this 66’ yesterday.
I jumped back on it this morning. Both upper driver side bearings had exploded.
Started chewing up the axle.
The large upper bearing outer race broke around its circumference. Carnage!
Front end is getting a brake upgrade from Wagens West as well.
We will build it if it comes.
Riley tore the front end down to the spindles on Friday in prep for the disc conversion.
We also cleaned up all of the rear end parts, pulled an axle for a donor trans, installed axle tubes, and most of the new bearings.
Saturday morning i welded a chain to the bearing race that was stuck in the redux box outer section. Had to heat it up and use a slide hammer to get that sucker out.
Finished redux assy on Sat also.
Rileys working on axle boots then brakes assy this morning.
Starting on the front disc swap as well.
We will build it if it comes.
Tuned-up Ragdaddy Ron’s 62 ragtop today. Found some other issues, broken transaxle mount being probably the biggest issue.
Then I started on Mike’s 70 westy. It has a bunch of janky wiring, busted alternator and dual batteries with an isolator. I’m going to install a new alternator, strap the batteries down, and redo a bunch or engine bay wiring. Probably needs and tune-up and/or carburetor rebuild judging by the way it runs.
Rag Daddy Ron!!!!! I hope he gets an extra second in his day to see this post and see his car is done.. He is a very very very very very very busy guy… He says he never gets a chance to look at the site… 😎
I have this other customer who says he is too busy to email me or post too… I dunno if I can believe that… If you have time to drink a cup of coffee, a redbull, eat a burrito, take a shit or lie down in bed…. You can squeeze in time to check the internet.
If your truly interested. 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
I’ll be there this morning to wast some of your time and slow whatever your working on down!
Franz noticed some custom heater cable mods!
Finished up Montrose Red today.
Riley knocked out rear end brake assy yesterday and got started on the dual MC conversion for the front discs.
Started today running new hard lines up front. Bleed, and adjusted the brake system.
We did a fresh motor on this a couple years back, owner comes into town a couple times a year to use it for ski trips.
Dropped oil, pulled rockers, torqued heads, and and all the other little tune up steps today.
Test drive went great!!! Ready for pickup…👍👍

Re-did a bunch of wiring on Mike’s baywindow today. Looks and feels better. Easier to follow. It was a mess. Battery isolator wiring and test tomorrow.

Super beetles are my favorite. 🙂
This one had a transaxle that was leaking in several places. I took it all apart to throw a gasket kit in…but found a cracked pinion bearing. At that point I had to call the customer to tell him that the best option was to send it out for a proper rebuild. We spent $1000 more than estimated because of that. So it’s been sitting around for a minute waiting for payment.
That came through last week, so I’m sending it home today.WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!! a LINE HAS BEEN DRAWN IN THE SAND!!!!
Parkway work has been put on hold until further notice!
Obviously, if you are part of the family, we will do what we can to help ya!!! 😎 The back door is always open…. 😎
