Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Finished up rear brake assembly this morning. Adjusted and bleed brakes, set MC pushrod play and brake pedal stop.
Installed/adjusted ebrake handle and shifter. New shift rod coupler also.
Heater control cable was all twisted up. Fresh one installed.
Engine install in progress.
We will build it if it comes.
Gas tank is a leaker!!!
Fuel flowing from numerous pinholes in the bottom of the gas tank.
We rigged up an alternate fuel supply…..
…..then went for a test drive!!!!
Test drive went great overall!!!! Pass front wheel cylinder was the only major issue.
We had a fresh one in stock that we’ll swap out tomorrow.
Flipped front torsions and re-indexed rears set the stance just right!
We will build it if it comes.
Bummer about the gas tank, but so nice to see the old man on the road again after so many years!
Yeah good day. Wolfsburg west had a new tank in stock. For $250 there was no way we could repair + paint one.
almost there… Omar, maybe the guys can finish the week off on your rig, get bumpers and such on, trim, a few more test drives, then Beer and Wings at Roosters on friday? Franz usually needs an extra few days ta the end just for details… 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
^^^ That’s the plan….
Installed the new wheel cylinder this morning. No leaks! Breaks are good to go!
Front seat belt install done.
Stock replacement batt strap is a bit long for the 12v battery. Shortening it up about 1 1/2”.
We will build it if it comes.
sweet car. Maybe i can get there on friday in time for wings!
Finished yesterday off adding the missing ground wires to the front runnings lights.
Euro lenses are sick! KAZAM!
The license plate light housing had bent and broken studs. Found a good one in the trailer, bead blasted and primed it.
Batt strap installed.
Down to one table of parts!!!
We will build it if it comes.
Omar and Owen stopped by to check on things.
That’s great to see his son involved and curious about things. They will enjoy the car together for years. Making those memories!
Tim
