Wow, happy 65th birthday Blue Oval!  I am pretty impressed that all the wheels are original.  Those parts look great!  I was checking out the Samba and that color is L37… Medium Blue…for the 51-54 Type I.  Hope that helps.

For some reason, this build is very satisfying to watch. It’s so nice to see all of these things fixed and or painted that were never addressed and may have been overlooked or not/never done correctly. I’m really enjoying this one. I can’t wait to see it get another 60 years of life from you guys.

Two wheels needed just a bit of bodywork. Few coats of high build and a little sanding and we’re good to go. 4CA09C0C-6348-4E73-AA0F-CF192D2ADD6F3A325985-67E0-4BCC-9556-34DB6F2B17BF6070BB62-1759-40B0-AF05-991C8C4A9BA36188743A-A8D6-44AB-A87F-A121E98E28D5

JJ pointed out we were only 6 bolts away from having the beam removed. We decided it could use a through cleaning.

Stayed late to blast and paint the beam👍 We’re back on track. Fixed that janky welded/on shock bolt too.

Yeah, love two tone wheels. Looks classic.

I assembled your spindles with new king pin and link pin kits this afternoon. Pressed in new bushings, and reamed the new bushings to size. No more rattles.
