After chopping the windshield, the seats were too high I made these and now I’m a couple of inches off the keel. Now it’s a low rider.. T seat back folds forward to make it a bench if you want to sit higher of flip around for a picnic
My 83 yr old, German Mom sewed up some interior for me on the cheap.
I’m calling this one done, for now. I picked up a ‘69 Mercury 35hp for it but that’s going to be a winter project. For now. This thing is a blast! It barely sips gas, turns on a dime, it’s light as a feather and I can actually surf and slash in other boats wake.
Anyone else into vintage boats? It’s good, cheap fun.
That’s cool Mike! Is that a crestliner?
It’s a Dura-craft Sportsman. The title says 65 but I think it’s a bit older from what I’ve seen on the web. Like a 50-51 based on the serial numbers. The current motor is an 85.

Love them cool Vintage boats!!!!!
Never make someone a priority, that makes You and Option. 🤔🤔🤔🥲
Love the boat!
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
Killer float!!!
Chopping the windshield led to some cool unforeseen mods it sounds like.
Nice work! Love the details!!!
We will build it if it comes.
Getting in some final rides before the end if the season. This thing is too fun.
Why is there no one driving the boat? Hahahaha
Tim
Ghost boat. I’m using the 15hp tiller motor until I get the 35hp Merc completed. Then I can drive from the front. Beer cooler goes in the front seat. 😉
Crazy that haven’t posted in almost a year, but I’ve been lurking and checking out all the cool projects.
Through some trading, I ended up with a Bus that I sold to a buddy many years back. It’s a 60 Dove Blue Panel with some camper window hacks.
My plan is to turn it into a camper to tow the little boat to the lake. So far, I’ve started work on gettin the front bumper straightened out and I’ve de-skinned the cargo doors in anticipation of getting some Kombi door skins with window openings.
The blade I have is a mess. It’s currently getting blasted and I’ll do the final finish work once I get it back.
I’d like to add windows to the long side. I threw out an upper window section when I cleaned up the yard for the new building, regretfully. Would you guys happen to have a long-side, Kombi window section on a parts Bus you’d be willing to part with? WW sells new pressings but apparently won’t ship due to size. Thanks!
